Review: Drakehouse Mill - Crystal PeaksRating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆Drakehouse Mill in Crystal Peaks is a popular dining spot that offers a cozy and friendly environment, perfect for a meal with family, friends, or a special occasion. With a diverse menu of hearty British fare, guests are sure to find something to satisfy their taste buds. The menu at Drakehouse Mill is extensive, featuring traditional British favourites such as fish and chips, steaks, and Sunday roasts, alongside a selection of burgers, salads, and vegetarian options. Portions are generous and the food is consistently well-prepared, with quality ingredients and appealing presentation. One of the standout features of Drakehouse Mill is its inviting atmosphere. The decor is rustic and charming, with wooden beams, stone walls, and warm lighting, creating a homely and comfortable setting. In addition, the outdoor seating area is a lovely spot to enjoy a meal or a drink when the weather is fine. The staff at Drakehouse Mill deserve special mention for their friendly and attentive service. They are always ready to offer a warm welcome, provide menu recommendations, and ensure that guests have everything they need for a pleasant dining experience.Despite its many positive aspects, there are minor areas for improvement. During peak hours, wait times for food can be a bit longer than expected, and the noise level can get a bit high due to the restaurant's popularity. However, these are minor concerns in an otherwise excellent establishment. In summary, Drakehouse Mill earns a solid 4-star rating for its hearty and tasty food, charming ambiance, and friendly service. It is a lovely place to enjoy a meal and offers good value for money. Whether you're a local or just passing through Crystal Peaks, Drakehouse Mill is definitely worth a visit.

Arrived at 6.30 and the place was very quiet only few customers eating. All the staff smiled and said hello , they Immediately pointed out that the kitchen was closing early and apologised, but were happy to put our order through. Two of us order different types of steak. My sizzling strips were tender and cooked perfectly. The onions and peppers are frozen so not a great deal of flavour in them , adding salt helps. Lovely fresh side salad and I tried the Mexican pasta. This was very mayo covered not overly exciting . However I have had a lot worse and the chefs are following company menus. The other steak was again well cooked and presented accompanied with fries, mushrooms, onion rings peas. A very filling tea. The pub has a great variety of seating to suit everyone, from individual to large family. Nicely decorated and very clean pub. All the staff were friendly

Drakehouse Mill is your slightly better than typical Hungry Horse.Pub grub prices with matching food and environment.Never had any complaints with the food when we're in the mood for the no frills hearty pub classics.Waiting time can be a little longer than usual, past few times it's been down to staffing shortage when we asked - but nothing too crazy or off putting.Decent layout with plenty of nooks and crannies for a semi-private feel when your eating, never tend be be sat on top of others.Staff always seem friendly enough, again, no frills. Will likely keep popping back now and again.

This has become the local place where me and my partner go for Sunday lunch. They have a gluten free menu (and a gluten free Christmas menu!) which includes lots of variety. The food is really nice and the staff are extremely kind and helpful!

Service at the bar was shocking the attitude of bar man was awful. Ordered starters which was burnt. When meals came chicken skewers were burnt and Rock hard. I asked for stake sizzler blue I got a well done steak with no onions or peppercorn sauce I sent it back still no sauce or onions and then I was given chips instead of fries as requested. Overall shoving the only hungry horse that has good staff and good food is the chequers in coal Aston these should be ashamed of what they serve

Alright chain pub. The food was decent and the staff were really friendly. The only issue I had was with the temperature. It was so cold that we had to keep our coats on indoors. The staff had to get a radiator from the staff room just to keep the lady behind the bar warm. I would visit again but only after the heating is fixed.

Sticky tables and cutlery sums up my first impression of this place. The food was good enough, but please don't pile the gammon on top of the chips, they go soggy. Peas were like bullets.Atmosphere was non existent. It was just a place to eat and that's it.Can't say it's a place I'll be visiting regularly.
