Stayed 1 night at the campsite, great little site with really good facilities. A bit of a shock when we arrived though, the pub was shut and we followed instructions to press the buzzer hard for attention, my partner did this twice as the buzzer did not make a sound, the next thing a lady I'm assuming this was the landlady was shouting at us from an upstairs window, very rude and abrupt. My meal in the pub was ok though would be good to see fresh vegetables not a plate piled with frozen mixed veg. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. The lady again was quite abrupt with some people when serving food. I would use the campsite again and the pub for a drink, but not for food .

Terrible experience, we are new to the area and we were excited to go and try our new local.Needless to say we will not return.Stale smell when you walk in, dead flies in the window, dirty floor under the table.Service was ok, friendly enough not particularly professional (moaning extremely loudly about family members behind the bar - maybe we would have heard more if there was some music on….Took 20 mins to get the basic menu to us - when it did get to us it was hand written on a scrappy lined bit of paper - think the owner was updating the menu:We didn’t bother eating after seeing the kitchen. We ordered a lager top and the bottles of lemonade were apparently flat so lemon Fanta was put in instead needless to say it ruined to pint.I’m not normally someone to write a review however this pub was atrocious and are gutted this is our new local.

Mixed bunch of reviews but we went for it anyway. Very much a locals pub but didn’t feel unwelcome. The stand in barman did a grand job making us feel welcome and the Ham, Egg & Chips was very tasty.

Very friendly, very lovely pub. People that run the pub are brill. The only thing that needs improvement is the quality of the food. It wasn't awful, but I'd not eat here again.

We booked a wake 2 weeks in advance. They could not have been more helpful. No sausage rolls and sandwiches". It was a wonderful spread of meats

First class country pub with a varied local clientele and visitors. Plus a very good campsite for tents, caravans and mobile homes.Very friendly bar staff and excellent very good value food. There are two cottages as part of the pub but we didn't use these hence the non perfect star rating. However going on the rest of the place probably just as good. Perfect and quiet site for exploring Exmoor and surrounding areas, Lynmouth, Lynton and Ilfracombe as well as Riverside walks. Well worth a visit as the staff could not be more accommodating. Bar person has an interesting line in Hawiian shirts and occasionally a turban just for good measure. A very happy pub.

Only a quick stop for drinks. Friendly staff, clean facilities and what looks like a great camp site attached. Will be back. Vegan options although we didn't sample on thus occasion.

What a great campsite. We booked for 1 night. Lovely landlord also a pub right next door, all services were good. Peacocks were a bonus to look at too. We paid 25 pounds for a pitch.

Nice pub, the staff and landlady were brilliant during our weekend camping. Beer and food was good. Camping toilets and showers were clean. Good rural location on the edge of Exmoor, ideal for exploring North Devon.
