Jaywick Martello Tower
Martello Tower is a great place to visit. The is a small charge (£3) to visit but the views from the top are great and some interesting historic content. They also regularly showcase art from local artists. It's not open all the time so check the opening times to avoid disappointment. At the mo my ent the sea defenced are being redesigned so there is some rebuilding work around the site.

Jaywick Martello Tower
Jaywick Martello Tower is one of a series of 29 towers built from Brightlingsea to Aldeburgh in 1809-1812 during the Napoleonic Wars to guard against the threat of invasion.Latterly, it was bought by the council and renovated to reopen in 2005 as an arts, heritage and community space.There is a nominal fee to enter.From it, there are panoramic views of the coast.It's a welcome addition to the local area.

Jaywick Martello Tower
A very interesting way (if you like history) to spend an hour. It was cheap to enter and full of information inside, as well as a little 'shoot 'em' game and other ideas to keep little ones less bored. When we visited we couldn't access the roof as there were nesting birds in situ, which was a shame as it looked interesting but completely understandable & well done for looking out for the wildlife!

First time here, came across this tower by chance. Only £1 for a adult to enter & there's a good view from the top. There was a art exhibition on by a local artist which was interesting & plenty of history of the tower exhibited on the ground floor walls.

Definitely worth a visit if you are walking past. Free for under 14's and £1 for adults. Two floors of history and rotating art works, and a decent view (albeit mostly of the van park city) from the roof top

Interesting place, just enough information to keep the children interested. Friendly approachable staff. Fab views from the roof and all for just £1 per adult.
