Dave Thomson and his team built an extension for us last year. It was not an easy project due to the ground sloping sharply away from the house and issues regarding access. We are very happy with the result and it has improved our home no end. Dave was able to develop and improve our ideas and make some imaginative suggestions, which we invariably took on board. He dealt with planning and building regulations and hired in other professionals as necessary. He did not cut corners and provided a thoroughly professional service.Several things separate Dave and the team from our many other experiences with builders. He is very reliable, does what he says he will do and his day-to-day communication is excellent. Most importantly, his after sales service is unsurpassed, dealing with any snagging immediately and taking full responsibility. Dave will not leave customers in the lurch.It may well be possible to find cheaper quotes, but anyone would struggle to find better value.Finally, Dave has integrity and is a pleasure to deal with. I recently helped a friend move into a one bedroom studio property. It had been refurbished by Thomson Design & Build LTD. I was impressed not only by the quality of the workmanship but by the tasteful way they had attended to detail. Kitchen, lounge, shower, toilet and bedroom looked like new, together with new flooring throughout, and carpeted stairs. There was a small garden which was also in immaculate condition, and left with small conifers in pots. David Thomson is amiable and obliging with plenty of ideas and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this firm.

Dave Thomon building undertook a complete gutting and redesign when we converted one floor of an old building in Nailsworth, into two large apartments in 2021.He liased and organised everything from all finishing, electrical and plumbing work, kitchens, bathrooms, structural engineer to video entrance systems and all building control and specifications.He was great to work with and gave me a weekly report and update as we went along.As with any large project there are always issues that arise, especially with older buildings and Dave was great at coming up with clever ways of achieving our goal. He was working to a schedule and was even available 6 months after when I had a question on something, he was at my door in a few hours to help me out.I would not hesitate to recommend him. He was reliable, honest and professional.
