Amazing food, well presented and tasted delicious. Great service, the host went above and beyond. Nothing to fault at all. Will definitely be back.

The tasting menu was fabulous! My fiancé had such an amazing time…honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The gentleman helping us, I think Andreas, was on top of everything and made the experience even better! Russ was also great and both made wonderful wine recommendations. Honestly, one of my favorite dinners in all the countries I’ve been!

A wonderful tasting menu and easy to say 5 stars. The menu did not seem to be choregraphed to bring out the chef's culinary style though. It was more like showcasing every good ingredient from land and sea. Every dish was competing to one another, still it was an interesting approach.

Unfortunately we had a disappointing meal but there is so much potential. The service was excellent from the wait staff and cannot be faulted. Everything with our meal started off well. The amuse bouche was absolutely delightful and had a wonderful flavour and was presented beautifully in a box where it has been smoked. We the received a lovely loaf of bread with three different butters. Unfortunately it was after this point things started to go wrong. All of these dishes we received we were well presented but unfortunately there were to problems. 1) The chef is using strong Asian flavours but everything just ended up being overpowering and not great. One dish featured some crab that was totally destroyed by a takeaway-esque Thai red curry sauce. Crab has such a beautiful natural delicate flavour but this was then completely lost. 2) We eat at a lot of fine dining restaurants and know that on tasting menus portion sizes are small, but the portions served were a little on the small sized even for fine dining. The amount of mackerel we had in one dish was a little bit of a joke. We didn’t like the flavour profile of the desert but the shortbread we received with the bill was exquisite. If there was a menu that didn’t feature Asian flavours (which we don’t think the chef uses well) and offered a British/Scottish menu we would probably really like it and have had an excellent meal. This place has a lot of potential and the chef is clearly ambitious. Might go back with a different menu.

Wow!!!!!I am 57 years old and have eaten at Michelin starred restaurants around the world, but I have never enjoyed a tasting menu and wine pairing as much as I did at Dean Bank's.The vegan menu is a triumph of texture and flavour and the presentation is nothing less than grand art! I was lucky enough to try the first ever serving of beetroot with a tomato reduction. I actually had a moment of perfection where all anxiety slipped away leaving my entire being focused only on the moment, the flavour, the texture and nothing else. Beautiful. Our server, Kate, brought us each dish with an aristocratic poise, with an almost balletic control in the presentation of each plate. She did an amazing job in describing the nuance of each course. The restaurant's sommelier, Jack, created a perfect pairing of wines for each course, the interplay of the wine and the food was both complex and delightful. Jack enthusiastically presented his wine choices, moving charismatically between the tables engaging with diners. All in all it was a delightful evening and I can't wait to go back.

A great way to experience this restaurant without spending too much is to have the lobster lunch. Exceptionally tasty food, served by knowledgeable staff in great surroundings. Lovely views across Edinburgh, spacious restaurant, and such interesting flavours. No choice but I trust the experts. Extras were well recommended but with no expectation that they would be ordered. We did, and we’re not disappointed.

It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was really tasty and beautifully concocted, and the wines complemented it very well. Our waiter was attentive and fun, and the whole meal created warm memories that we'll enjoy for a very long time.

Was a bit weary given all the ‘hype’ around Chef Dean appearing on Masterchef.. is it REALLY that good??Went in for dinner on a Fri night 730pm.. walked out 1030pm with a full stomach, happy heart and pleasant surprise7 courses did not disappoint.. service was on the money. Vibes were gentle and chillNot the easiest to describe all the dishes.. but if you’re on the fence.. do it. They’ve got 3 different tasting menus.. regular (for people who eat everything), pescatarian (this is what I did), vegan (woah!)Team were flexible with me substituting out something from the pescatarian menu with something from the vegan menuNearly all the servers came by the table to introduce themselves at some point.. and bring a dish or service the table.. outstanding service and team

Food was lovely and there was a great variation to the dishes. The beef dish was excellently done and was a favourite on the table.Service really was outstanding and the attention to detail was what you would expect from a restaurant in a five star hotel. We didn’t have the matching wines but the glasses of the South African White Wine we had were delicious.
