Hideous and inorganic. Would be so much better if removed. Just an atrocity with satanic undertones. Who decided on this? Grotesque. The dog has been decapitated. I’m not sure how or who plans to fix it. It doesn’t hurt the aesthetic.

Acclaimed Twentieth Century sculptor Jacob Epstein’s last work, “The Pan Statue” (1957-59) erected in 1961, repositioned in the central reservation of the re-routed Edinburgh Gate in 1910.An apparent family group spurred on by Pan, bolt towards the park in an elongated blur of motion.Grade II Listed, set on a modern plinth accentuating the forward thrust, aside a noteworthy modern gate.Whimsical with a mildly grotesque undertone that succeeds in capturing acceleration with unbridled exhilaration.

There's a Pan in every group and circle. Pan reminds us that we are just dumb animals faultless in many ways except for our music tastes.
