Unified light and magnetism, in a theory that survived Einstein. One of Scotland and the world's leading scientists is shown off well in this statue, which includes details of his work in clever sculptural elements and decoration. Well worth a walk.

Maxwell's contribution to this world is priceless. He was a simple genius over his time. When I think about his findings I feel this world with enormous numbers of hidden secrets. His statue not only honoured him but those who know about his contribution also honoured in the form of his statue.

A statue of James Clerk Maxwell, the most famous Scottish physicist. It's worth going and seeing it. Perhaps for those who know the value of his discoveries, the statue is insignificant. But for most people, it's probably just another statue in the middle of the road. However, it is good to see an acknowledgment to one of the greatest minds in history.

Nice statue with good detail from south facing side. Dog’s tail on north side could be better. The one behind it is taller also. 3/5 statue.

Quite possibly Scotland's most famous physicist. The statue is in the middle of the road so care and attention is needed when taking photos

As a student studying physics in the James Clerk Maxwell Building, this statue is a particularly special tribute for me. Great way to commemorate one of the greatest minds in physics.

James Clerk Maxwell's influence could never be understated. Some might consider him the greatest physicist of the classical era.If you're interested in science, seeing Maxwell's statue is quite nice. For mathematicians, physicists and electrical engineers in particular, this sends goosebumps down the spine.Edinburgh is truly remarkable when it comes to the academic world.
