Rang in advance to book overnight mooring to be told they were closed for refurbishment but we could moor in line near the pub. This we did and decided to try the marina again to ask to use their laundry facilities. Told that we had stopped on private moorings and despite being plenty of room and very poor signage we had to move. Also no sign of any refurbishment work going on. Would have quite happily paid for an overnight stay and to use the facilities, which was refused. The on-site bar also fell well below expectations. Also visited the chandlery which had very limited stock Won't bother again.

This marina could offer so much! It is in a superb central location but most of the pontoons have been condemned by the HSE due to collapsing, lack of repair or shoddy workmanship. Aquavista have done nothing since buying the marina 18 months ago. There are no boat repair or blacking facilities and major DIY work is prohibited. There are at least 70 empty spaces which must be losing the company a fortune! Avoid mooring your boat here. Unfortunately one star is the minimum rating.

The pub there is great. Walked from Castle Marina to Beeston Marina. It's such a lovely trail.

Really well kept marina with everything you'd want from one, supermarket, retail park, hotel, restaurants all within walking distance, city centre is also achievable on foot (roughly a mile)

I've been here for over two years and I find this place expensive (price goes up but services go down), poorly maintained (old buildings and unstable pontoons), with generally rude and incompetent staff (although there are two exceptions), and very insecure as things get often stolen from the boats, sheds, parking and common areas (showers, laundry, etc). Location is good though, close to supermarkets, and there are sanitary facilities, diesel, water and mains plugs too.Considering saving >£4k/y for my narrowboat and moving to the canal at the end of the quarter.

The Castle Marina is absolutely stunning and awe-inspiring. I’d oftentimes stroll along the lovely canal, eyes roaming around the place until I reach the Marina. I’d rest there for a while to have lunch, contemplating the boats, and recall the warmest of my memories.

It is lovely to walk along the canal, watch all the narrow boats and all the fauna living along . Castle marina looks very peaceful and quiet.
