Maharani Indian Restaurant
Was our first time in years trying out this restaurant, probably not again. Loved the variety of options available and sounds really Indian, however the taste isn't. The dishes are majorly altered to fit into a British taste buds which lacks the essence of Indian spices. Otherwise the atmosphere was calm and nice, good service by the staff.

If you’re looking for truly authentic curries then this is your place. I felt like I was back in Asia with the flavour. Bombay potatoes were truly the best I’ve ever had!Atmosphere is great with super friendly staff that treat you like your their friends.Nice decor. Have already recommend to my group of girl mates to come here next month!

We chose to visit this restaurant during our stay in Colchester due to the reviews. We fancied a curry and saw this restaurant online alongside its good reviews and so chose to book here. We phoned up and asked for their availability to which we were accommodated with whichever time we desired. The staff were extremely happy, helpful, and lovely to talk to during our stay. Very accommodating for my partners dietary requirements which is always a bonus! 10/10 would recommend and look forward to visiting here again in the future!

One of the best Curry restaurants in Colchester. It was simply superb. Highly reccomend this place if you're looking for a truly authentic cuisine and experience. I also felt it was incredibly reasonably priced as well. The service from the staff was friendly, bubbly and simply second to none as well!

recently enjoyed a delightful Indian meal at Maharani, and it exceeded all expectations. The flavors were rich and authentic, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance created the perfect dining experience. A five-star experience that I would highly recommend to any food enthusiast!

I came to Maharani restaurant with my wife for an evening meal after recommendation from friends. We both had an amazing time.The atmosphere was fabulous, and the restaurant was elegantly themed to a royal indian restaurant but yet still modern with the social media vibes for the younger generation to snap one or two Instagram pictures.The dishes we tried from the menu were delicious, and the staff was attentive to our dietary requirements and provided an excellent friendly service. The staff who were in front of the house were all very jolly and made the dining experience more enjoyable. I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff. The quality of the service and food was excellent. I also liked how you cater for vegetarians and adapted the menu with no fuss to meet our needs. It's nice to know there are such places local in Colchester. We will definitely be coming back again, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to dine out in an elegant place, with excellent food and service.
