Chelsea Dry Cleaners

I would steer clear of this place. I have been using them for a few years as it is close enough. Likely have spent many hundreds even a few thousand. The last few weeks the clothes come back stinking of sweat even though I give them completely free of any odor. They tell me it’s their German dry cleaning molecules that require certain airing that they mistakenly did not do. One would think they would have refunded me as I had to take 10 garments to another dry cleaner but nothing . Miserable quality and even more deplorable service for a repeat customer.

They badly damaged a leather belt buckle which was attached to my new trench coat even though I pointed out the buckle to them before cleaning and asked them to protect it. They claimed they always cover buckles and buttons with foil and the foil must have fallen off in the machine but the leather had been ripped off all the way around the buckle so this clearly wasn't true. He said I could buy another buckle at John Lewis and they would put it on for me, but they would charge me for this. What a cheek.Dry cleaners are legally required to take 'reasonable' care of anything left with them. You can claim compensation if your belongings are damaged or lost while in their care. Even if the dry cleaning company has a sign or notice saying they aren't responsible for items left with them, this isn't necessarily true. So I shall be taking this further with them and if I don't get any satisfaction, I shall be making a claim for compensation through the small claims court and reporting them to Trading Standards. Avoid this dry cleaners if you have any valuable or cherished items you need cleaned as they don't take any care or attention with your clothing. They only care about the big contracts they have with local hotels and restaurants to clean their linen.

Destroyed my clothes and didn’t even offer a resolution right before my holiday… high chances of your clothes being damaged don’t use this place.

Been in london for 10 years and this has been by far the worst dry cleaning experience every. Horrible customer service and horrible cleaning skill. Damaged and ripped my brand new shirt and had zero empathy toward the situation… made me feel like I was the one at fault for saying something about the damages. They purposely tried to cover it up by hiding the shirt between everything. I wish everyone the best of luck if you decided to try this place. So much for trying a new place out, I rather go 20 min to my old spot then ever step food in here again.

They have the machines on site and offered a 2hr service dry cleaning my trousers on Sat.afternoon-wasn't in fact in a hurry but good to know. Also workmanlike mending on a pair of trousers & adjusting a party dress (more delicate work). At all points a professional job & reasonable prices. Gold Dry Cleaners seem may be another trading name - looks like one business.

Have used them 3 times now, and their service is amazing

I needed same-day dry cleaning for a suit. They charged an outrageous £40. There is no price list and the owners seem to make up the prices. The cleaning and pressing was mediocre. And they broke one of the two buttons on the front of the suit - likely because they could not be bothered to wrap it ahead of the cleaning, as all decent dry cleaners do. They said nothing, no apology, no attempt to remedy. I only saw it much later when I unwrapped the suit. Avoid!

My thick woollen jumpers have all been beautifully washed and dried. I couldn't have done such a good job at home in the middle of winter! Collected and returned on time, with helpful staff. Thank you!

I am a regular customer at Chelsea Dry Cleaners on Old Brompton. I dropped off a shirt after one use, and they returned to me with small holes in the front of the top. I was disappointed they didn’t point out the obvious damage upon pick up, and I discovered it myself. I emailed them including pictures of the damage, the link to my shirt to prove cost, and asked they make it right and reimburse me for value of the shirt. No one responded to my email in the two weeks I was on holiday, so I stopped in the store when I returned. I was told by Ali the manager would call me, but he never did. He continuously blamed it on the machine and wouldn’t take ownership of the damage. They offered me 150gbp in dry cleaning credit, but the top costs 250gbp and I asked rightfully for reimbursement of my new top. Seems like a no brainer given I am a regular customer, and if they did right by me and handled this well I would be an even more loyal customer. Their unresponsiveness and unwillingness to own the mistake is disappointing. Not to mention the manager has yet to call me back - he has been “too busy.” If you have dry cleaning needs, would highly suggest you bring your business elsewhere. This place is unprofessional and not commercial. Never bringing my business here again. They lost a loyal customer.
