Disgusting. At 3.20pm we turned up for a table to have a drink and snack. I am disabled and needed to sit. Not an easy place to walk through as the floor was littered with stuff. 2 staff told me they were shutting and they had no seats. When I protested it was too early I was told well its OK for you coming today and wanting to spend money but what about the rest of the year

Beautiful and delicious late lunch. This is our second time of visiting this cafe when in the area. We deliberately sought it out after our walk because of the ethical nature of this business. Would highly recommend the cheese scone plus!

Just a lovely small place, presented as an honest simple cafe with a home food theme amd lovely tea and coffee. There are so many places in this town, I am glad we fell in here. A good cafe is a very hard thing to create and run, this is a gem.

Haven't been here before, but definitely going to be suggesting it to friends and family now.Beautifully crafted med style foods using the best quality fresh ingredients prepared by a fella with an obvious passion and talent for creating good food.It's in the back of an antiques shop, and has a limited number of tabled but it all helps for a great atmosphere and it feels a little like you have been invited over to a great chef's place to eat!It's right in the middle of the pretty market town of Bakewell which is worth putting a few hours aside to have a walk along the river and through the town or maybe set off on the Monsal Trail by foot or bike for a more serious distance.

Hidden gem - recommend. We stopped here with our young family and the food was excellent.The BLT with salad was delicious - don’t usually rave about a BLT but this chef knows exactly what he’s doing. Everything cooked from scratch, fresh and lovely service. Our children loved their food too. Thank you, we’ll definitely visit again if we’re in the area.

I've been here twice and on both occasions it's been top quality food and service. The café boasts that the Beans on Toast is the best in Bakewell but I doubt if it this dish is superseded in Derbyshire or South Yorkshire, or indeed, the world. The drinks are superb and the puddings/desserts are wondrous.
