Permanently closed. Bexley bikes

Update August 2022. Owner is retiring. Sale on now, there's no mechanic on site any more as he's left. Remaining staff can do minor repairs and adjustments. Shop will be closed down permanently by end November latest. What a shame.Update February 2020Took my bike in to Bexley Bikes February 2020 and left it with them overnight for pre arranged service next day. Mechanic Gary called to tell me chain and cassette were worn and would need replacement, but advised that could wait until end of winter as rain, salt and grit would quickly trash new ones. Also informed me mechanical disc brake pads had worn unevenly due to (my) failure to adjust them over time and they could be replaced, but suggested allowing existing ones to bed in for a couple of weeks instead then adjust as plenty of life left in them. £45 instead of over £100 a lesser bike shop might have charged for renewing everything when there was no need to do so (yet). Good work, good price and thanks to Bexley Bikes and Gary! Oh, forgot to mention that my 7-year-old bike now feels better to ride than when new!Old reviewHave used this shop many times for help, advice and repairs... They charge for the latter (and for parts, obv!) but rarely for the former! Great service! Friendly and Attentive staff sort me out often as a while-you-wait service even at short notice, especially if you're stuck in bike gear. Their work is normally first rate and cheaper (and better) than Evans. And everywhere else I've tried. And they are willing to haggle a bit on price. Thanks guys! Oh, and they recommended the best cafe in Bexleyheath for me to visit while I waited, CUORE - try it! Turn left out of the shop, it's on your right after about 200m.

Been in today as needed a bike stand wich they had one in stock and also fitted it for me wich was a nice surprise. Have to sy aswell the 2 gentleman in there we're very helpful and very very pleasant. Great when i asked abit of advice aswell. Will be back soon and thank you Sonia

Great service, I dropped the bike in late on Wednesday afternoon and expected a few days before I got it back. New bottom bracket fitted and a phone call early Thursday morning to say it was ready. Would fully recommend

Best local bike shop I have ever used and I have been cycling over 40 years.Always helpful and when I have been into the shop, the people who work there are not just trying to sell you unnecessary items.Also very knowledgeable of cycling and technical issues.My most recent visit I needed a chainring and the person who helped me took the time to explain exactly what I needed.Thanks Bexley Bikes there are so few shops left like you.

Bexley bikes are the absolute best! They have gone WAY above and beyond to help my son have his bike repaired after we was let down badly by the manufacturer! All the staff have been so informative and kept us updated all along. I would not take our bike anywhere else definitely a life long Customer!

Went there to query about a rear bike bearing repair. Had to wait 10 minutes before a staff came to ask what i was there for. It was raining yet, was made to wait outside and take the query. This wasn't the service I had expected. While I was being consulted, the staff allowed other customer straight into the shop. I asked how that was a fair treatment. The staff in his 50+ age, told me he is no more dealing with me and turned his back on me. I said this wasn't done and that I be equally treated. He instead me to go off. I had to shout my voice out saying I am not going out until I hear from the management how the treatment was fair. Another younger staff came to intervene and he as well was supporting his staff member. I had to tell the whole shop off the way they were discriminating me with their attitude and behaviour. The shop and the staff members are horrible and very poor service! I was asked to leave saying you get out of here and they decided who they want to deal with. He was teasing me from inside the shop saying you do what you want!! This people have no sense of customer service and are discriminating people and playing their awful card! Do not recommend this shop to anyone. Absolutely horrible!! Only open for people of their likes and choice!!!

Great local shop. Always friendly, good knowledge, and exceptionally helpful. Good selection of stock for bikes, clothing, etc inside. Unfortunately I don't come as often as I'd like to as the surrounding roads are so unpleasant to cycle on, but the service they offer is top notch.
