The Hatch on Holy Island
Food was okay. Expensive for a hot dog at £9 each. Menu is limited. Very rude woman at the counter. We cleared our rubbish and brought the tray back and said thankyou, she said nothing and just gave a very rude look. I agree with some of the other reviews about waiting times also, a group waiting a long time for a coffee because filter hadn't been cleaned but this was at opening time of 12 o'clock.

We pitched up late, unannounced on a Thursday to find the kitchen was just about to close but they very kindly offered to make us anything from the menu even though the chef had just cleaned the kitchen. The service was brilliant, the staff lovely to chat to, the food was delicious and great quality and the garden perfect to sit in after a very hot day.Highly recommend this small business, they will go far with their excellent customer service. 5*

Everything else pretty much closed except large hotel and pub near where we landed. I like to find the quieter spots and support them. This is lovely, has lots of outside space (none inside) and a simple hot menu to satisfy most hungry mouths. Prices - much the same as other tourist spots, but it was fresh, tasty and served with a smile, so no complaints here.

Really lovely people who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. They took the time to make sure we had everything we wanted & needed. My husband has food allergies and the team made sure our food was cooked freshly and made specially around the menu to ensure he could eat everything. Beatiful garden setting too. Highly recommend The Hatch.

Sadly this is my first 1 star review, we ordered 5 drinks and a child's egg sandwich for our granddaughter and a portion of loaded fries for the boys. The quality of the food was good but the cost and wait was ridiculous( £6 for a children's egg sandwich meal and £6 for loaded fries) 55mins wait and all we got when my wife asked how long it was going to be was a Very angry man saying it would be done when it's done. Unfortunately our granddaughter fell asleep before it came and Unfortunately we weren't the only customers who were waiting a very long time too

Long queues of impatient people at every other place to eat on Holy Island and then we stumbled across this Oasis of calm. Staff very friendly, lovely garden setting to enjoy the last bit of sun and best of all they do vegan options. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food

Fabulous hot and cold food. Had a slight wait but understandable as all food is made to order. £6 for loaded fries seems reasonable for holy island so no complaints. Can't wait to visit again soon!

The Hatch on Holy Island
The Hatch on Holy Island is a fantastic place to grab a quick bite to eat while exploring this stunning part of Northumberland. The menu offers a range of freshly prepared sandwiches, soups, and salads, all made with high-quality ingredients. The coffee is also excellent, and there are plenty of delicious cakes and sweet treats on offer. The Hatch is conveniently located near the Lindisfarne Priory, making it the perfect spot to refuel after a day of sightseeing. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the outdoor seating area offers a lovely view of the island's beautiful scenery.

The Hatch on Holy Island
The Hatch is gem of a find. On the left of the road with a simple sign. Away from the crazy crowd of tourists before you get to the cafe that every tourist seems to go to not realising that the hatch is 50 yards before. Seating is outdoor. The staff are friendly. The food is great. The best bacon and egg roll I've had in a while. The cheese scone is very good. I been 4 times in the 2 days I was there and I have to say I've enjoyed the food even if not restaurant food it is as nice as the food I have had in the evenings. Don't pass it by, go in, you won't regret it.
