26min wait for a sausage. Then didn’t make me aware of deals (£4 for 2 sausage) gave them £4 and still didn’t offer me another one. They seem half asleep and not motivated. Chips were horrible too got about 10 of them lol. Went straight in bin

Ignore the negative reviews below, they aren't related to this shop. This chip shop don't do delivery and never have, it's an old school chippy as they used to be. Neither do I care about their covid policies. I only care about the food, and it's delicious. Freshly cooked and good quality for a very decent price. The chain rubbish that has taken over Wakefield like Wetherby Whaler and Mother Hubbards isn't a patch on a chippy like this, and is 20 - 30% more expensive, more when you factor in delivery fee, delivery app commission etc.Yes, you have to park and go in (shock horror!). Yes, it'll be a 5 minute wait, but that's because it's freshly cooked and what makes it so good. I must have been in 100 times, the food is ALWAYS freshly cooked and never re-heated like a lot of places do. This is one of the 2 best chippies in Wakefield (the other being Tony's in Outwood), so forget the rip off chains and support your local chippy. Better quality, cheaper price.

On one hand the fish is cooked fresh to order and the service is warm and friendly. On the other, the chips were soggy and the meal was overly greasy. Maybe it's personal preference, but I won't be rushing back

Normally really nice fish and chips. But today they were that bad I binned the lot! Fish was not white… more like the colour of salmon and smelt off!! And the chips were dry and like warm ups from lunchtime! Really put me off going again even though I’ve been many times.
