They never help me. They never taught me techniques for my anxiety. They are useless. They made me worse not better. They gave me the same homework 3 times for no reason, it isn't even related to my struggles.I have been waiting for 2 years for the psychiatrist. Never got a review for my medication. No interest. No empathy.

wish I could say that this was an exception to the bad rep CAMHS as a whole gets, however it is not.only a few staff seemed genuinely invested in how you were doing. the rest would just make baseless assumptions, rather than actually listening to the person who was in front of them, which makes people understandably feel worse.it’s a shame because as I mentioned before, there are a certain few who genuinely do care and have made a positive impact, however it is overshadowed by the far more common negative experiences.

in about 2018, i was referred to CAMHS Tayside after worrying one of my teachers, and saying i had a plan to end my life in the next year. i was assigned a nurse, and she did not listen to a single thing i said at all, and she actually made me much worse.she had a work booklet that she wanted me to complete (in order to learn very basic and blanket-purpose grounding strategies, which i knew didnt work for me and what i struggle with).she took the booklet back out of my hands, which originally was titled coping with depression and anxiety symptoms"
