Thank you to a forward-thinking council who allows campervans to stop overnight. I hope all of our contributions (30 campervans New Years Eve) really help the town and their businesses. We wish more councils would do the same. It felt safe and so convenient for the city attractions and shops.

Saw online that this was a cheap and large carpark. Arrived here, tried to pay for parking but couldn't. Not a single machine working properly and when you drive in, at the barrier, your supposed to get a ticket thing so you can pay at a machine, but that wasn't working either. Spent about 10 min trying to work out a way to pay but in the end, just parked up for an hour, went into town and then left again. So I recommend this car park, on the chances of not having to pay as they can't be bothered to keep it maintained...

It is a good place to park the camper for day trips, close to the city, but easy to get to driving.Originally I gave this carpark a great review for campervans as it was one of the few places you could park, they now try to penalise you for owning a campervan as your only form of transport, maybe have a campervan only parking area and penalise cars for parking there so there is room for campervans, there are so many places to park cars in Chester but few for taller vehicles.

Anpr camera on entry and pay before leaving is great for me. I hate having to pay up front not knowing how long you need then anxiety of getting back before it runs out. £5 all day is great too. Arrived approx 11:30am on Saturday, the car park was quiet but filled up quickly afterwards as Chester races were on. We had a bite to eat in the cafe, the food was good and the staff were lovely. All in all a great day out in Chester.

The most dishonest and cheeky car park I have ever been, very high chance that you will get an easy £50 fine just because I couldn't find an empty parking bay after 15 minutes of turning around the car park. I didn't park on the double yellow line, I didn't block other people's cars at all. In this car park Lots of empty spaces even more than the allocated parking bay, all without a warning sign. I didn't see any single warning sign inside Car Park, only one warning sign at the entrance of the car park. Thank you so much Chester city council for being so dishonest. Just wanted to warn people about my experience. Very disappointed.

Great for overnight stop over. Lovely cafe on carpark. Not expensive charges either. Chester Wall is only 2 miles round straight from carpark. See loads more of the town from here. Fabulous historical town. Lot's of quirky shops and pubs. All well worth a visit. Will visit again.

Fantastic car park for MotorHomes and Campervans with loads of space but can be busy during the day at weekends. But you will be able to find a space after the shops shut. Were else can you park so close to a city centre to enjoy. It even has its own Cafe. Highly Recommended.

Great council car park, right in the middle of Chester. Used as an overnight stop. Situated below a busy road beside the river. The road does quieten down in the evening and gets busy again about 7.15am. Fairly flat. £13 a night without facilities. There's a cafe on site to which you can use the toilets when they are open. There's also rubbish bins which some council car parks don't always provide. Will use again.

Thank you Chester Council !! Welcoming motorhomes - very much appreciated !! So ... overnight parking allowed here ... very quiet as there's an entrance/exit barrier, so no car stunts etc going on. Cafe opens first thing - with toilets. No real facilities for water etc, but you're only a 10 minute walk from Chester Centre - its a bargain. We parked up just after 5.00 pm, stayed overnight and all the next day (£15). Easy access out of Chester from here. Brilliant.

In 1689, Henry, Duke of Norfolk, raised a regiment on the little Roodee in Chester in an effort to resist any attempt by James II to re-take the English throne. This regiment became the Cheshire Regiment and now forms part of the 1st Battalion, The Mercian Regiment (Cheshire). This must be where they parked their cars, as there is ample space and great amenities on offer, including a cafe and toilets.
