Excellent customer service and allowed me in to buy my daughters uniform on short notice because I was unaware of the appointment rules. Whittakers needs to learn how to respect customers, there staff are inadequate and have no people skills. Will always shop at grays from now on. Thank you to all the staff at grays.

The lady serving us throughout the process was unbelievably miserable and for the £500 we spent here we thought she could at least pretend that she cared. The shop is well laid out but the staff and in particular this one girl with a hijab on was truly awful to deal with.

Used to deal with Grays years ago as a supplier of uniform to the school that I worked in. They were always helpful, professional and supplied quality garments.

Great service in the shop but no stock of uniform for my child's school despite being the sole supplier until 2 weeks into the new school year. Ordering service is useful but customer service once you're actually out of the shop is disappointing. I was told to collect on a certain date but order had still not arrived when I went to the store. A quick phone call would have saved me yet another wasted journey! I'll order online next time as I've paid the same in parking as I would have done for the high delivery costs.

After waiting for my appointment to come patiently all week I was disappointed by my visit today. Upon entry there was nobody to greet me. I entered the shop and waited for the only nearby assistant to come off the phone. Then another assistant appeared and checked I had an appointment at which time somebody else came with a clip board and ticked my name off their list. The door behind me opened and a man entered, the assistant asked him of he had an appointment which he said he didn't but she still let him in with a number of children in tow. Then an assistant came down from upstairs mentioning that her mum would be coming even though her appointment was later in the week she was come g today. It's NICE to know why they didn't have any stock of the only thing I went for 2 school skirts. The assistant helping me actually attempted to give me a completely different schools' skirts after she discovered they did not have any for the school that I required. I know we all make mistakes, she was a little wet behind the ears as was all of the assistants in that shop today but she was constantly distracted the whole time. I will not be visiting again by choice.

Clean store, had all clothing required for my child. Knowledgeable and polite staff and given lots of time to try items on. Price slightly cheaper when compared online with other uniform stores.

The member of staff serving me was very helpful and pleasant, the other lady I spoke to who I can only assume is a manager or the owner was a little less customer friendly when I pointed out that it is ridiculous that families are forced to purchase uniform from one shop.To say that you would be loved if you were a cake shop because you are a local independent shop who employs local people is one of the worst analogies I have heard for the defence of the fact that you have been allowed to monopolise a local market. If cake was a necessity (as School Uniform is) and you were the only place local that sold it meaning that you can monopolise on price then people would have the same outlook of you as a cake shop.It is not the fact that it is school uniform that makes this an issue it is the fact that you hold a monopoly meaning that there is no competition meaning prices are driven up. It is simple economics of price elasticity of supply, you hold all the supply meaning you can set the price that you want.I would say to people to take their business elsewhere but that is not a possibility for a lot of the schools in the local area as there is no one else to supply.TLDR - Staff were pleasant and helpful. If you can avoid the monopoly then do so otherwise you are stuck paying over the odds.

Girl serving us showed no customer service skills whatsoever. I understand it's busy but to at least seem helpful and advising would have been nice and maybe crack half a smile. My first time going there there can honestly say I won't be back.

I have been using this shop for years. Never had a issue. Always very helpful and polite. I definitely recommend this shop. I would rather pay a little extra to receive a good standard of customer care than visit the other local shop that provides rude and ignorant staff.Stick to what you know is best.
