I came here to the A&E after having an accidental overdose and the staff here went above and beyond for me. I stayed one night but I appreciated what they did for me. When leaving the hospital (I had arrived via ambulance) I found the public transportation to get back to the city centre of Glasgow was great there were a lot of ways to get back and I think it's a wonderful hospital. Thank you to all the staff who had looked after me.

This hospital is the worst hospital I know staff are understaffed but why can't you at least try and show you cate a little bit . I've had three bad experiences in this hospital with my mum who went in with gallstones and ended up with delirium and then she just got worse I had to fight for 6 months to get her proper care eventually I fot her to stobhill jurassic those nurses are angels . I also had a very bad experience for my husband so I will never fo back to this hospital ever again.

I cannot thank the staff at this hospital enough. After almost leaving A+E after a long wait I was reassured by staff to stay which I did, and I’m so glad I did.I was kept in over 3 nights in ward 46 and the staff were extremely reassuring towards me, I’ve never received so much respect and care during a daunting hospital experience. It’s been almost a month and I am recovering extremely well mentally and physically as I wouldn’t have been here without the care of these wonderful staff.Thank you NHS. ❤️

There is a small museum there now telling you all about the history of the hospital. Honestly? One of the nicest experiences I have ever had. Both staff were lovely, especially the older gentleman who gave me a good laugh. Highly recommend it.

Quite simply don’t risk it, I have an aunt in here, I think she’s in here at least. In an elusive ward 65 - I mean there’s no way to tell. There’s no-one to ask, there’s an elevator that takes you to floor 2 and there is apparently a reception, but that door is permanently closed. So go back to elevator to ground floor - no windows, no staff in sight. Find a sign that says all wards - leads down a windowless tunnel - don’t go it’s not the way - ignore the signs, ignore your impulse to ask for help. I had a mini meltdown - worst, filthiest hospital I’ve ever been in. Don’t use toilets - the sign outside and inside toilet will explain the unsavoury things done inside said toilets. In all honesty it’s like a workhouse, an utter disgrace DO NOT ENTER.

It really is a shame that the NHS is struggling with funding and resources as one can easily see how someone else could have easily had a terrible experience at this establishment. They are very understaffed and with a bit of bad luck, you could end up waiting long hours just to speak to someone.Overall, my experience at this A&E was exceptional. I stayed on ward 46 as an inpatient for 2 nights as I underwent a CT scan and a lumbar puncture to rule out any serious complications from some scary symptoms I was facing. From the moment I got seen for initial blood markers, to then getting sent up as an inpatient and all the way through to me getting prescribed medication on my way out of the ward, the care staff's unwavering constant support and the doctors' remarkable blend of proficiency and compassion made what could have been a daunting experience much more manageable. I am deeply deeply grateful for the outstanding care I received.

My stay at this hospital for around a week has been partially ok and partially horrific. The lasting memory will be that of the latter. I’d prefer to not attend a hospital and suffer at home than be an inpatient as the way some staff have an attitude is terrible. Asking politely for medication once and being snapped at, patients being made fun of (overheard this at the nurses station), things being documented incorrectly in a discharge letter etc it’s all just not good enough. I appreciate the good they’ve done of course but I’ve left feeling worse. Others in the ward were saying similar and that there are few staff that actually make a difference in a positive way and they make your stay feel much better. It’s unfortunate for the kind and compassionate staff as the rude ones outweigh the good ones. Grateful but disappointed.Wouldn’t recommend unless you are in dire need of medical help. Brace yourself for staff with an attitude who don’t want to be bothered with you. Go in prepared if possible. The lack of communication between the hospital, GP, community pharmacy and/or mental health team is ridiculous. It leaves the patient with a lot of work to do that they shouldn’t have to deal with.

I immediately took a facial scalding victim to the A&E. They actually refused to give me cold water or wet towels to administer first aid. The pensioner sat for 4 hours with only wet bathroom tissues. Her skin turned black and fell off a few days later, she is scarred now. I am shocked that they would not help with first aid whilst sitting in the A&E waiting room!
