B&Q Wigan

Great place to buy DIY stuff. Could find the items easily by looking at which isle they are located in from the website. You can find lots of building materials from here. Had plenty of parking. Good products!

I’ve been to B & Q many times. This is the first time I visit Wigan B & Q. What a huge store. Staffs are friendly & helpful. I appreciate Nathan who helps me bringing a loft ladder to the cashier when I haven’t got a trolly.

The staff were helpful, eventually. I made a trip from Southport to collect some tiles that I had pre ordered, only to be told I couldn’t due to all the tills being down and they could only accept cash.Despite a sign by the door telling people it was cash only, many were still being turned away from the till. I felt for the woman on the till having to deal with this herself. Managers should have appeared on the shop floor to help out. I eventually did get my tiles but not before saying that the situation was unacceptable. They could still find the time and the effort to take cash from people then they could find my order. They did.

Customer service at the check out leaves a lot to be desired. (Not all of them). But a couple of the older ones are surly, miserable and have a chip on their shoulder. Called in this morning and the item I had to pay for came up with a higher price than shown on the price tag. Check out woman scanned it with her 'gadget' and told me the higher price was correct and I should have checked the barcode. The manager agreed it wasn't the customer's responsibility to confirm prices with the barcode but the woman would not have it when had I said this at the checkout. When we returned to correct it, and in front of the manager, this individual refused to serve me. I admit I lost my cool at her and then her colleague on the next till 'chirped' in to support her even though she hadn't a clue what the issue was. Me thinks one or two of them find it difficult to listen and they still live in the 'seventies' with the contemporary attitude of 'take it or leave it.' Suggest new blood is required - it's time to replace them with someone more responsive and pleasant to customers.Needles to say, and it wont break their bank, but I won't be darkening their doors again. Just a pity our local Wicks has closed down - their people were a hell of a lot more pleasant!

Very well stocked store and friendly helpful staff. Whatever your D I Y needs are, you should be able to get what you want here.

Ordered 12 items for a 1 hour click and collect on Tuesday, got email saying ready to collect so drove from Blackburn to store hoping to collect only to find out items not ready for collection as 'on high shelf on a pallet no drivers to get them'. Was promised they'd be ready for next day, when we rang up next day they still weren't of course, now been delayed a Total of 7 days and still 7 items have not been given, each day same excuse the forklift driver hasn't been able to get the items off the shelf, I've had to travel down to store there and back 4 times now 50 minute drives each day and I'm yet to collect the rest of the order. People working there have no interest in helping or sorting something out ideally could have been sorted on first day. Worst experience we've had with b&q, items were a kitchen order which were needed desperately hence me going to further away stores to collect as they were needed ASAP and so far they've been delayed a week, a 1 week job for my builder has turned into a 2 week job because of B&Qs slow pace of working. I was promised a 50% discount on my total order once I've collected the rest of the items but knowing whats happened so far who knows if theyll stick to their word. As a business owner myself I wouldn't want slow working employees like this at my business as they only put off customers not bring them in. I definetly wouldn't reccomend anyone collecting items from here because even if their stock says the orders ready to collect it most likely won't be. And don't bother trying to ring up as they won't answer, or you'll wait on the line for 10/15 minutes and just when you think they've answered they'll disconnect the line on you. Based on some of these other reviews it seems its not just a couple of people who have had such bad experiences with this store.

We drove from Wrexham to find a makita charger which their website claimed had 5 in store. Yeah, no such luck. All 5 had mysteriously disappeared. We were then informed that the website means nothing..Lee, one of the staff members was too busy to help an elderly man looking for fence panels (finding it way more interesting chasing the young blonde sales assistant) Fortunately one of the back of store staff members rang a different store to see if they actually had any in, given that the website would require use of a crystal ball which we didn’t have on us.All in all, shockingly poor customer experience.. I’d say try Wickes next time

Shocking customer service. Understaffed and the Staff that are there clearly don't want to be there. had to file a chargeback against them with amex. Wouldnt use again.
