Saddlers Bakery Bistro
Never thought to find such an exquisite cafe serving recipes that's out of the box, a Mexican style soup with lots of condiments to add and the apple and almond pie is so delicious we ordered a second helping. Wonderful service, saw them extending hours to accommodate a young family. And cool music, great recipe books on the shelf.Went back for more, everything sold out, not surprising. We had the Vege breakfast which was so good I am eager to get the Vege sausages.

We were staying locally and wanted to find somewhere for breakfast. After a little walk around the village we landed on Sandler's just as it started to rain. Our two dogs and ourselves were welcomed into the cafe.We ordered a traditional and a vegetarian breakfast, a coffee and a pot of tea.Our drinks were brought over swiftly by a lovely friendly young girl .The cafe was quite full , and the next set of people were invited to share a table. There was a mix of locals and tourists. There was a steady flow of people collecting orders and coming for take out.Unfortunately the food took just short of 30 mins but was very good once it came out.Saddlers is a bakery too with choices of breads, pastry's and such.We took a scotch egg to share for our lunch which was large , it was really good!Overall a good place for a filling breakfast to set you up for the day, with friendly staff, and at a reasonable price. Thank you.

After walking at High Force and driving across the moors we had a craving for something sweet and stumbled across Saddlers Bakery. Parked up and dashed back, despite being extremely wet and bedraggled we were welcomed warmly. Bought 2 (large) wedges of Bakewell tart to take away.Quite possibly THE NICEST bakewell I've ever had. Absolutely delicious! Really wish I lived nearer. Or maybe my waistline is glad I don't.

Lovely cafe/bakery, had lunch with my family. The veggie quiche, tuna mayo roll and chips were heavenly. Hats off to the chef and local produce

Aware of recency bias, but this genuinely may have been the best fryup I've ever had. Absolutely flawless. Only popped in by chance when passing through Alston, and what a result. Not local to the area at all, but would 100% visit again if up this way.

We happened upon Saddlers when visiting Alston on holiday . What a great little cafe . We both had quiche for lunch ( there were 3 different flavours on offer ) , served with home made chips and a flavoursome salad . One of the nicest quiche lunches we have had - and I’m sure the home made pies were equally good ! We bought a white loaf to take home and also apple and almond pie , both of which were also delicious and much enjoyed for our supper tonight . Would recommend you visit if you are in the area .( and it is not often I am moved to write a review ! ).

Found this place today while on a visit to the area. Food and service was excellent especially the fresh baked bread. Loved the Homemade Chips. The Sausage and Bacon in my sandwich was locally sourced and tasted beautiful. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Quality food and service with a smile. Tasty pies (recommend steak and ale and chicken / ham hock / leek).Cute cafe with lots of home made goodies. They're currently taking part in the AMEX shop small offer too (June2021) which means £5 off a £15 spend - result!
