We picked this place to stay at because it is a short drive from Port Isaac. You could potentially walk down to Gaverne and Port Isaac on a nearby walking track but the return is all uphill. They did open a little later than their stated time due to a staff member running late which meant we went elsewhere for lunch. Dinner was good pub food and staff were friendly. We were unlucky in that the fire alarm sounded during the night on 3 occasions. The next morning staff were very apologetic and apparently no cause was found. Maybe they have a ghost!WiFi is a bit erratic through no fault of their own but at least there is enough to do the essentials albeit slowly.Breakfast was very reasonable.

We had a meal here on Tuesday evening whilst on holiday. Such a lovely pub, great atmosphere and really welcoming to non-locals.The food was delicious and well priced, and the service was brilliant. We wouldn’t hesitate in going back if in the area again!

We stayed at the Cornish Arms for 4 nights, mid September. The rooms were clean and lovely. The food was great, especially the breakfasts. This is a great location for coastal walks and Port Issac. A huge thank you to Ebony, Jack and the university student who looked after us for the first two days. A lovely atmospheric pub, warm and welcoming with friendly locals. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable and warm. I thoroughly recommend the Cornish Arms, you won't be disappointed.Wendy and Laurence

Booked for lunch and we were a party of 7 but that was no issue atall. The food was great everyone was happy in our group.Great choice of drinks and we ate well as the portions were good.Sat outside in the garden was delightful but there is a road next to the pub so keep an eye on the kids.We would return, also finally the staff were great and there's ample parking

Had an excellent fish pie with a salad that complimented it perfectly. Although not somebody who does desert, my mother and cousin had an Eton mess which they loved. Service was really welcoming and friendly throughout in a traditional setting. Well worth a visit.

Lovely traditional Cornish pub. Quite a lot of interior rooms and great food. Certainly worth a visit with a big group. Great selection of beers and rapid and friendly service.

If I could give less than one star I would. I am not one to put a bad review on or complain if it wasn’t a true representation. If anything, it always feels good to be writing a lovely review!l however, I really can’t say the same for this pub. It was my brothers 19th birthday and we are here on holiday. We have been coming to Cornwall for the last 5/6 years and have experienced different types of Pubs and have found some truly lovely Cornish pubs with great pub grub! This one was the worst we have ever been to…. The pub itself has a lovely feel but when we ordered food, we did not expect for the Mac & Cheese to be sat in water and for the burger buns to have mould on. We told the girl who was on the bar and she couldn’t have been more apologetic and took them back for them to be re-done. They came back, the chips had been microwaved as were soggy, the burger buns were stale and the burger was red raw in the middle. My partners was barely even browned on the outside. We were all so disappointed and put off our meal which had now ruined my brothers birthday. The waitress apologised and said all food would be taken off the bill which we explained, it was not about the money but about the fact the night had been ruined. The chef then came out and explained there was a trainee in the kitchen tonight and had seen the food and sincerely apologised. He said he was filling out paperwork and wasn’t supervising. It has truly ruined the night as, due to the time in the evening, there is no where else serving food. The owners response was appalling and didn’t even speak to us personally. We sadly won’t be going back. The only positive I would say would be the lovely waitress who must now been extremely embarrassed.
