My name is Cobby Jones. I am originally from Ghana and worked as a Healthcare Assistant. I was charged with Assault by Beating during the course of my work. I had representation by a different solicitor when I was interviewed by the police, at Acton Police Station. However when I was charged with assault, I had to find a barrister who would leave no stone unturned. A barrister who knew criminal law like no other. My DBS was affected and I had to stop working. It was life and death for me. I did a Google search for top barristers in London and Quentin’s name came up among the list. I Watched his videos on YouTube and my gut feeling was to go for his services.When I made contact with Quentin, he showed professionalism from the word go, but also had a touch of personal feel to his work. Anyways, a trial date was set for the 18th of September 2023 at Uxbridge Magistrates’ court.I received a well prepared Defence Statement from Quentin. I must add here that, Quentin always encouraged me to make suggestions wherever I thought it needed. He was never condescending nor came across as being the almighty in legal matters. He was rather open and collaborative; steering the process in the right direction. He was always in control, yet made me feel as if I was the boss. He regularly sought clarification from me before proceeding to the next step. It was fulfilling to know that I had someone who was working hard behind the scenes to ensure that justice was done. He put me on notice that he was going to write to the CPS to get the case dismissed.This is the stage that got me thinking of him as a selfless and a wonderful person. Quentin could easily had not bothered writing to the CPS and made me go to court in order to extract more hours from me, and in so doing make more money out of my predicament. Instead, he skilfully convinced the CPS to drop my case.On the 12th of September 2023, I was sat quietly in my kitchen contemplating on the upcoming trial in Uxbridge Magistrates’ court. I went to check my mobile phone and saw two missed calls from Quentin. He had also left a voice message that I should call him. I was hesitant to call at first, as I thought it was probably to tell me to prepare for the upcoming trial. Then my partner said to me “what if he is going to tell you that the case has been dropped like he said he was going to aim for”? That thought got me excited and I hurriedly picked up the phone and called Quentin. He gave me the greatest news of my life! My case got dropped, like he said he was going to aim for.In summary, my experience with Quentin, as my barrister, was nothing but excellent interaction and prompt communication.
