Disgusting, never order here again. Bought a munchie box and the donner cuts were really thick (odd) then after a few bites i realise the inside is RAW.

No longer vegan options. Went tonight and was informed all cooked in beef dripping, although they advertise vegan friendly. Not vegan if cooked in beef. Shame as used to love this place

Just to clarify folks this chippy has nothing to do with #fish at Marchmont despite the similar name. The Fish and chips were far superior before it changed hands however I had a sausage supper tonight and the chips were brilliant. I was reluctant at first as there was so much lying in the heater which is never a good sign. The sausage was soggy but edible but again the chips were were brilliant. Maybe I caught them at a good time.

I was so excited to try vegan fish and chips, but the staff member who served me was so condescending and rude from the moment I entered the store that it ended up being one of the worst experiences I had in Edinburgh.She was almost hostile in her passive aggressive tone, not wanting to explain what some of the options were (like when I wanted to clarify whether 'supper' meant chips were included) and rolling her eyes when I ordered a meal deal (telling me with annoyance We don't hAvE a meal deal"... when it was listed on their board).Service and food are two separate things

Fish (haddock only) was already cooked and not fresh. It was not white in colour more yellowish and fell to bits, just looking at it.They had alot of already cooked foods. Not sure why as it was not busy. (Again question its freshness).More people where coming in and leaving without even ordering, than there was taking food away. Because they did not do the foods they wanted. (Old menu in the window).Positive- chips was OK. But probably down to the taste of salt and vinegar.

Would give zero stars if I could,Food got delivered somewhere else. Phoned got told well it’s been delivered on my system and the driver said he delivered it. Am sure he did just not to me. Got told well call Uber eats, easier said than done. It’s ok for them they got my money and I didn’t get anything. Don’t hire people that don’t know how to follow simple instructions and check addresses. The men I spoke to absolutely useless you are beyond ridiculous and completely unhelpful.Avoid this dump at all cost, unless you enjoy getting unhelpful, rude, judgemental, idiotic men not really serving you or helping you in anyway. Then this drive is perfect for youAbsolutely fools

Had fish and chips here before, food is good but this time the card machine isn’t working and without even trying to figure it out, got fobbed off with “look, try a different card..”Walked to the shop up the street, bought some groceries no issue with the card.They need to sort their card machine and attitude.

Looks like they may have changed owners or staff recently. It just wasn't what fish and chips should be and the staff appeared to know very little about how fish and chips are prepared. You'd be better off going elsewhere.

Would highly recommend this chippy! I ama ceoliac and have been nervous eating out after several instances being ‘glutened’. Delighted to have found somewhere I can enjoy take out again ! My partner also thoroughly enjoyed his normal gluten filled fish supper. Thanks again!

Despite requesting several times that they put the sauces into pots they guy serving proceeded to literally drench the chips with the mayonnaise and then the ketchup, by the time I got these home (5 doors away) the chips were all slimy, there was none of the crunch left. I paid extra for the sauce to be in pots so it would stop this happening. Nearly three quarters of this went into the bin!!!!
