Kevin Wilson Photography

In order to progress my photography to the next level, I knew I needed to find some specific help on a one to one basis. After some research, I found Kevin and after a couple of phone calls, I knew he would be able to help.And so it has proved. His breadth and depth of knowledge is incredible. After so many years in the business, photographing many incredible weddings and portrait sessions, he knows his stuff. However, this is not what inspires and impresses me the most. Totally unlike many other photography mentors or tutors, he does not try to turn your work into a clone of his own. He respects your own artistic vision and coaches and supports you in delivering that vision to the best artistic and technical standard possible.He is also a skilled people person. He offers advice and suggestions in a gentle, encouraging way. If, like me, you lack a bit of self-confidence (and even if you don’t!) Kevin is a genius. He has an ability to make you believe in yourself, so critical in any artistic endeavor.If you’re on the fence about getting a mentor, my advice would be to pick up the phone or send an email to Kevin!

Kevin was absolutely fantastic on my wedding day, I couldn't have asked for more. I barely knew he was there and yet he managed to capture every single precious moment and the photos and memories are beyond what I had hoped for. I have recommended him time and again to all my friends and family.

The most amazing photographer anyone could ask for. His attention to detail and creativity is outstanding. Our wedding pictures are more than we could have ever hoped for and such a quick turn around, got married on Saturday and had the pictures by the following Sunday. Amazing amazing amazing!! Kevin was our wedding photograph in our wedding in September. He was a delight to deal with, put us at ease right from the first meeting and all the way through the preparation and on the big day and afterwards We felt very comfortable discussing everything with him. He has a very creative mind and produced fabulous photographs that we are absolutely thrilled with. His work was truly professional and some of the best quality photographs I have ever seen. I have had three 1:1 mentoring sessions with Kevin, which have been an invaluable part of my photography progress. Kevin holds nothing back, has a lot of patience and has a natural ability to teach which makes it a pleasant experience for all involved.I met Kevin in February for my first session, and by July he had helped me gain my Licentiateship in Portraiture through BIPP, which was something did not think possible. Only four months later, I also gained my Associateship in portraiture. This was thanks to Kevin identifying my strengths and pushing me to be the very best I can be.Kevin is a true master in his field and I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to take their photography to the next level and beyond!

I kind of felt like it was really natural for me to seek a 'master' artist to guide me to become the type of artist I wanted to be. I had so many ideas and lots of creativity but was lost in trying to find my own style. I sought out Kevin Wilson for photography mentoring after seeing his work. I was unaware of just how many accolades over the decades that he had won. After sending him links to my work and a telephone call he sent me away with food for thought. It was a year later I came back and said I am ready to focus. Kevin was extremely patient with me and gently guided me whilst I started to evolve as a photographer and understand what it was that I wanted to show in my work. His attention to detail helped me to refine my own critical eye. His encouragement and counsel was invaluable. As a mentor he is ideal as he also has extensive experience as a judge. He understands what is actually required to achieve qualifications and to produce award winning images but more importantly he understands how to produce work that will have that timeless quality he is so known for. He has the knowledge, experience, breadth of work and combined with his character made the process tough but enjoyable. I say tough as he will make you 'overachieve'. I feel privileged to have been able to learn in person from him on three occasions now and I kind of want to keep it a secret as he is too good to share! I'm just completing my very first exhibition and L-panel for BIPP and I know I have come so far in 12 months because of his mentoring. Thank you Kevin Wilson.
