St Lawrence's Church, Crosby Ravensworth

Question 40 (Cumbria section) number 5 of the British Cycle Quest used to be.: A gravestone near the northwest corner of the churchyard bears a CTC badge (Cyclists Touring Club) What is the name of the cyclist and from where did he originate?I visited it in 2009 to answer the original question and returned (having the question been changed to the asking for the inscriptions on the church entrance, which I think is shameful)The young man who was found on Haberwain Ridge was only 22 and has been lying there since 1929. He has obviously not been visited in a long time. Poor chap. I removed the moss from the head stone and had a beer for him down at the Butchers arms. The question should not have been changed as it is a very humbling experience. (Changed at least in April 2019 by someone who couldn't find the grave? It is still very readable) I will email the CTC and ask them to at least mention the original question.

A beautiful historic church set in beautiful surroundings, boosting a 7th cross in the grounds of the church. Well worth a visit.
