A bit of wait but do it as you won't be disappointed. We had the Steak and Mushroom Trencher and the special of the day Creamy Pork !! SUPERBBest of all was the service from Spanish Frank, what a great guy....has worked there 33yrs and has served everyone admirably with a smile and a story....thanks for making out day. Also had a Milk Jam"......a super dessert !!We will see you again

Definitely worth a visit when you are in Bath, you need to try the famous buns, be aware that the bubs are huge, so you need to make sure that you don't over order.Tables are available on a first come first serve during the day, so you need to make sure that you go early. There is also a little museum under the tea room, it is very small and down some steep steps.

Visited with my girlfriend as a finale to a 3 day birthday weekend. I had visited Bath previously with my father but he was much to impatient to queue for this in the middle of the day.Lady & I visited of an early evening so fell within scope of the dinner menu.I had the Braisee Beef & Mushroom Trencher, she had the savory pie of the day, Lamb. Both dishes were an enjoyable dinner before our long drive home. Vegetables, meat, bread & pastry were served in a charming dining room. The food itself was like a home cooked comfort food meal. A worthwhile visited for historical importance & local culinary fare in Bath.

Sally Lunn does most excellent buns, and her beer is not bad either! This eating house is part of the fabric of Bath and although it has a reputation of always being busy, we enjoyed a quiet dinner with a good value set menu. I'd say that the buns are at their best with just plain butter, but they really do taste amazing however they are served.

I heard a lot about this place so I decided to finally try it. There was a bit of queue outside but it moves very fast. We only waited few minutes. The interior seems quite small but there’s plenty of space inside. We were seated on the second floor. We tried the Sally Lunn’s bun with clotted. Mine was with the cinnamon which was very good. My husband had just the clotted cream and jam. The bun is huge so you can easily share for two. We had one for each and we ate everything fine. It was very good though quite simple. It’s a must do if you’re in Bath.

This is a lovely place to come and visit it really puts you into a time warp making you feel like you are in a Georgian eating house. The decor is very cool and it’s a real gimmick for tourists, you’ll have to cue for a long time I think we cued for like an hour for this place so maybe best to go when it opens. If you’d like to try the famous buns without the long cue you can get them in the museum as a take away well worth doing. The museum is terrible so probably don’t go to see that. The staff are very busy so give them a little consideration but honestly our waiter was awful, they had run out of the salt beef after cueing for an hour, he took our order then left and just forgot everything, the food took forever and he tried to speak to us afterwards and I really was no amused by that point.I recommend the Victoria sponge, it melts in the mouth and really is worth the time, the savoury buns are excellent as well so make sure you make that. Yea is also very tasty.

They are literally dry hamburger buns.I ordered the veggie savory bun and it was thawed veggies over mayo. The chicken bun had about 3 pieces of dry chicken. The lemon curd wasn’t anything special. I give the food maybe 1 star. The overall atmosphere was good, the decor is cute. They sat us at a table next to a door and everyone kept trying to come through the door and rammed into me every 5 mins. Probably should lock the door?

Awesome history, excellent authentic and unique food. The Bath buns are like no others, toasted with butter, crisp outside, moist inside, slightly sweet, amazing. Wish we could get them at home. The pork hock trencher was delicious and reminded me of my grandmother’s ragu. Only detractor was one slow and sub-par waiter, all the other servers seemed to be energetic and on point. A must do if in Bath.

Really enjoyable afternoon meal here at Sally Lunn's Bun Shop. The building is super old and has lots of history. **they have gluten and dairy free scones and a gluten free brownie that is delicious** so if you don't eat bread you can still enjoy a great afternoon tea here. The buns are huge and they have an assortment and sweet or savory toppings, soups, scones and desserts. Several tea options, the house blend was really nice. It was getting a little busy and you have to ask for refills if you need anything but otherwise all of ladies working were very nice. I would recommend coming here for a great historical experience in Bath and the food is great.
