Bidford Boats

Great value for a enjoyable day out on the water. The boats are a bit dated and could do with fixing up (one door wouldn't close properly for example) but for the price you couldn't grumble. You can sail to Evesham and back in the time allowed and that takes you through about 5 locks each way (that's the bits the kids enjoyed most). Very little traffic on the river, nice pleasant way to spend day.

Very affordable way to hire a canal boat for the day and just outside of Stratford Upon Avon.We were only a group of 2 but would be fantastic as a way to celebrate a big occasion as the boats can hold up to about 10 and you can bring your own supplies to keep yourself nourished throughout the day. Kettle, fridge, oven, toilet and washing up facilities all on board. The boats aren't the most luxurious but for a day trip are perfect.We were able to have the boat for the full day 9.30 - 6pm so we enjoyed the full use of the day.Dave was very patient and gave instructions to help novices like ourselves!

Really great day out, the owner is very accomodating and the boats are great. Fun to head into Stratford with all the locks on the way. Scenery is great even on a full day.

We hire day boats quite frequently every year and we've been using Bidford Boats for 5 or 6 years now. Dave is the most accommodating and laid back chap you'll meet. Always helpful and willing to give advice. The boats are well kept and a good size for day boats, better than all the other places we've hired from. Dave is just a mobile call away if you've any questions or problems - definitely reccomended.

Great family business who go the extra mile to make your day special, the boats are all fully equipped. Heaters, flushing toilets, sinks etc.Instruction given in boat handling if required.Fantastic for a day out or special occasion where you can view the world at a much slower pace.

A relaxing day on the river. Staff very helpful and friendly. Narrow boat was clean and well kitted out with all the amenities you could want even down to USB ports and three pin sockets. Headed down river and stopped at the Bridge Inn for lunch followed by a leisurely return up river through 3 locks. A fantastic day made all the more enjoyable by the staff.

I think it could be manned better. While attempting to moor between a Fibreglass boat and a narrowboat in heavey current, I recieved no help with my lines from the boat yard staff. He just stood back and watched from a distance. Otherwise, I did buy £130 of diesel at a discount of 2p a litre. Whoopie

Lovely barge with full facilities. We arrived for 9.30 as requested and th Dave gave us all the information necessary for our trip. We took the Evesham option (there are only 3 locks on this one). Just before you get to Evesham marina, there is a pub with one berth on the left. It has to be tried. From there we made our about turn, which was relatively easy and made good time to get back by 6pm. We were just 10 minutes late, but Dave was OK, be said we had actually made good time against a strong headwind. A thoroughly enjoyable day. NOTE. It would be better if there were 3 to 4 adults as the locks are quite hard work for just 2. ( One on the tiller and the other handling the lock gates) You might be lucky and get some help if there is another boat going the same way. But all in all, it was good fun. Two very tired 60 somethings had a lovely time.

Beautiful boat kept in top condition. David was extremely kind and helpful. His quiet disposition could easily be mistaken for unfriendliness which is clearly not the case. Our teens and us had a really fun time together without a mobile device in sight. Bliss!
