Old Market Square

Nottingham Old Market Square" is the real heart of the city

It's a Nottingham tradition to meet up at the Left Lion. The Old Market Square (OMS). Is often used for events with themes. I've never eaten anything on offer. Years ago we had open music festivals, now just mainly profit events. The beach has been popular over the years in summer.The fountain feature was once great but now just a dry pigeon poo slab. Check first if you sit down on a seat. Not sure if the fountains will be turned on again. Nottingham has been run down over the last 20 years by the Labour controlled council through miss management and failed vanity projects. Once busy shopping Mall is now a demolition site (Broad Marsh).Be careful around the OMS with many out of place people hanging around. I don't feel safe. Let's hope times change and we can enjoy this great open space as once we did.

Busy Xmas Markets at present, great place to burn hours

Enjoyed the Beach experience with the various stalls, which is a temporary Summer exhibit (free to enter although attractions are individually paid for).Enjoyed a coffee in 200 degrees in Flying Horse Walk, just off of the square. This is a really unique coffee shop in an old Inn, well worth a visit.

A beautiful Christmas market!! Very busy but still alot of fun

Pros.Better and better each year.Lots of stalls with lots of goodies.Very Christmasy vibe.Ice skating.Pop up wooden bar. Great idea.Atmosphere is great.Cons.Very expensive for food and drink.Pop up bar overcrowded.Parking hell in all car parks. The one we went to was packed but still letting in cars. And no where to turn back to exit! Parking bays ridiculously small.

We’ve had a wonderful day at Ay up market in Old market Square Nottingham. There's a lot of shops and entertainment happening there. Owesome and beautiful day.

Nottingham City Council always put on great activities in the Square. The Winter Wonderland and the Beach in the summer are must visit attractions.

Experiencing the Christmas Market here has been great.There's a variety of foods offered, rides, ice-skating experience... all brilliant.

More fun during Christmas. Good place to spend time with friends and family.
