Yew Tree Cottage Westow

“Fabulous, cosy property just north of York and in the foothills of the North Yorkshire Moors.”My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for two nights. Every thought has gone into making this a home from home, and everything inside and out is of the highest possible standards.The property has plenty of space inside to just relax in the evenings and use as a base to explore North Yorkshire, including nearby Castle Howard, during the day.It is well equipped from a technology perspective, and the message book is full of compliments from people who have stayed there over the years.I really cannot fault this fabulous cottage!

I have stayed at Yew Tree Cottage a number of times over the last 10 years. It is truly a little gem in the heart of Westow and has been carefully and stylishly designed to bring an immediate sense of serenity once you arrive. The cottage has everything you could want for a relaxing getaway, is child friendly and the welcome basket of goodies is really nice touch. We will continue to come back.

“Lovely top notch stylish cottage”5 of 5 starsBeautifully decorated, spacious and yet still cosy. Elegant and luxurious decor. Bed was superbly comfortable, linen was glorious. The large kitchen was brilliant and with all modern appliances. Our three children loved the games and there were all the necessities for travelling with a baby ie. cot, high chair, plastic cups etc. The picturesque village was well located for York and the surrounds. We loved it!

What a fantastic cottage, the welcome was superb, the decor fantastic with a real homely feeling, the standard of finish throughout was excellent, the beds comfortable and the linen clean and fresh, the welcome basket was a great surprise, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to all.Booking could not have been easier with regular updates along the way, instructions for arrival were spot on.

Exceptionally charming cottage furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Ideally located for both the coast and country.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage. Westow is the perfect base for visiting North Yorkshire with York, Malton and the coast all within easy reach. We loved the pub next door and the playground 5 minutes away and were able to cycle to nearby villages very easily on the quiet country roads.Natasha made everything very easy by ordering us daily milk deliveries, a veg box and a BBQ pack from the local butcher. The cottage was spotless and has everything you need for a week away. Her welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking some meals.Our two year old twins loved visiting some of the local farms and attractions including Beetlebank farm, Piglets Adventure Farm, and Wolds's Way Lavendar fields with its miniature railway. A day trip to Whitby on a sunny day was a great addition and very easily reached too.

Nice cottage but the after care was awful. Booked as a toddler friendly cottage and yet we were fined for expected wear and tear. They withheld over £50. £40+ to redecorate over some toddler handprints which they later managed to clean off after I suggested using a magic eraser. They still charged £15 to clean the handprints off. They also charged over £10 to replace a bathmat that was perished and damaged prior to our arrival and they hadn't recorded it as damaged on their inventory before I arrived.If you stay ensure you inspect the property and its contents very carefully and report any blemishes or damages on arrival to avoid our experience.

Luxurious and quaint, Yew Tree CottageWhat a pleasure having a holiday in beautifully restored Yew Tree Cottage. The decor is superb with comfortable furnishings, well appointed kitchen and bathrooms and everything one needs for a relaxing holiday. It is the little extras that make the difference. The welcome basket filled with delicious local produce, wine, maps and information was most appreciated. The option to have meat, bacon, eggs etc delivered to the door by the local butcher is also an experience.Yew Tree Cottage is in a small serene countryside village with a traditional pub just down the road which was great for a meal or just to have a relaxing drink. There was plenty to do. Relax in the garden, take a walk and enjoy the beautiful countryside or visit Castle Howard or the beautiful city of York with the York Minster Cathedral and of course the moors of North Yorkshire.Natasha was a wonderful host ensuring we had all we needed. Thank you. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend a stay at this gorgeous Yew Tree Cottage.
