I went to Mel after she was recommended by a friend. She immediately understood what I needed support with and she developed a learning plan just for me. I needed to pass the ILETS exam in order to apply for a visa for Australia. Mel was patient and encouraging and I was successful in passing the test; I don’t think I could have done it without her help. Thanks Mel.

We got to know Melanie during Covid when she kindly offered free lessons and we have stayed on with her since then. She is an absolutely fantastic English teacher who has supported my daughter since yr 7 and gradually built her skills and confidence with the subject. I would highly recommend her to anyone out there looking for a good English teacher for their children.

Northern Sky Education helped my daughter with additional a-level English Literature tuition. Mel was able to compliment the work being carried in the classroom to provide a higher level of understanding. Given Mel's many years of experience in teaching, lessons were kept informal and relaxed giving my daughter the confidence to ask for help in the areas where it was required.I would not hesitate in recommending Northern Sky to others in a similar position. I cannot recommend Mel highly enough. Working with my son for his GCSE English language resit, she has gone above and beyond, in a very short space of time, to build his confidence and teach him strategies on how to to approach the exam. My son is dyslexic and does not enjoy English but Mel engaged him from day one and he reports that he's learnt more in the last month than he has in 5 years of high school! I would not hesitate to recommend Mel: she is very approachable, professional and passionate about helping her students.
