I had my car repaired at their body shop in Glasgow - dreadful service from start to finish and the most expensive cost, however as insurance fix then had to go with them. They tried to get me to pay for a courtesy car and I had to complain to get the insurance back. No class. A number of issues with the bodyshop which I complained about via their online portal - says respond within 2 days - 2 system complaints logged and 6 weeks later no response. Phoned and response was very dismissive sorry nothing to see here go away. Use them at your own risk. They are not intrusted in customer quality at all.

Poor service so far hopefully this will improve. Rating will be changed accordinglyFinally sorted with the insurance company however the poor service continued from Arnold Clark. Several times I was kept waiting over 45 mins for phones to either be cut off or finally answered by people quite snappily and when asked questions became confrontational. Will increase my review slightly as in person the service was better however still took almost 10 mins to be acknowledged when I went despite there being no one else there and the man looking at me several times.

Long waiting list to get an accident repair fixed. Was told around 3 working days labour and 8 days later I called for an update and got nothing. 10 days later and I’ve called twice with the promise of a call back....still waiting!(broken bumper by the way)

One of the, if not the, best companies for renting a car. The staff are very helpful, supportive and welcoming. Everything is explained in detail.Highly recommended.

My car was damaged before I picked it up brand new and was sent to one of their non VW bodyshops within the group. Within a year, this repaired paint started flaking off! From this experience, I definitely did not want to let the car be fixed by them once again, but insisted they would only fix it if the repair was done here as it was VW Approved but within their company. My fears were correct and the repair (which was completed within 6 weeks of complaining about the flaking) was not up to standard. They'd sprayed the paint too thick so that the paint was soft enough to mark with a fingernail and I was told that this would never cure properly. The finish was atrocious and the colour match was not even close. It took over a month for them to agree to redo the repair under the supervision of the paint company who's paint they used. I was not allowed at this point to have the repair done elsewhere. They did not remove the faulty paint job that they'd done, simply painting straight on top of this. This meant that the paint was still soft and I was not happy with this. They then blamed the paint company and made them deal with the rectification - effectively washing their hands of the issue. It took another 2 months to have the car repaired again by technicians from the paint company on these premises. Again, I was not allowed to have the repair done elsewhere.Guess what happened that time? The repair was still soft but even worse, the paint company left AC to polish up the repair after they had sprayed it and the technicians managed to polish through the brand new paint. The bodyshop denied this and insinuated that I had done this to my own car, and that I had to sort it out with the paint company and that this branch would no longer be dealing with me. I must say, that the customer service received by the manager is the absolute worst I have ever experienced. He dragged everything out so this ordeal spanned a whole 6 months before it was resolved, but I should also note his incompetency in managing the bodyshop and allowing his staff to consistently make terrible mistakes and do things wrong. Eventually, after getting the finance company involved, AC paid for another VW bodyshop to carry out the work needed to resolve this issue. For anyone interested, the bodyshop who carried out the rectification was Specialist Cars VW in Kirkcaldy. They were so helpful and managed to sort everything out for me very quickly, but their workmanship was absolutely top drawer. I am not only so impressed that they carried out such a perfect job, but doubly so that they managed to do this along with rectifying AC's mess. Anyone having to use this AC bodyshop, have a word with your insurance company to allow your car to be repaired elsewhere - you will not regret it, and if you are coming to this AC bodyshop out of choice, I would strongly urge you to think twice and pick somewhere that actually knows what they are doing.Photos below: Left side of the photo shows one of the repairs by AC. Right side of the photo shows the factory paint. Look at the terrible finish from AC (zoom in) and ask yourself whether you'd want your car to be repaired here. Fortunately my car was only superficially damaged, but if these guys are this bad at painting; how bad are they are serious accident repairs? Other photos show a burn through at the edge of the repaired quarter panel, and another shows a burn through at the edge around the fuel filler recess.

Terrible Bodyshop.Unfortunately for me, my insurance company appointed AC to replace my tailgate and back bumper after an accident.Gave me the car back with tailgate and bumper misaligned and scraping on each other, towbar wiring trailing onto hot exhaust pipe. most of clips holding internal trim missing and aircon no longer working (apparently not caused by the accident because the impact at the back could not possibly damage aircon at the front!).2 years later the tailgate is rusting - only covered by a 1 year parts warranty!EDIT: I see Arnold Clark have responded asking me to speak to the branch manager.. I did! His secretary called me back a few days later to tell me the rusting tailgate is only covered by a 12 months parts warranty and they will not be repairing my car again. It's now in the hands of my insurance company - luckily they offer a 5 year guarantee on all repairs (so I'm leaving them to argue with Arnold Clark over who pays for it)Stay away from these cowboys.
