Excellent speed of response and service, let down by a frankly pathetic ruse to get you to pay more. They ask you to measure the length of the run from the main electricity box to the preferred location of the charger. You do so exactly following their own protocol, submit all the photos and video they ask for. You pay the full amount based on that measurement.Then … they call the next day and say they won’t come round unless you pay an extra £90 for ‘extra cable and labour’. So - of course - you pay it. The alternative is cancelling and starting again, but maybe they know something about the complexity of the job that you don’t?When the job turns out to be easier than expected they refuse to refund you the £90. The fact the engineer said he used more cable than that indicated in the initial measurement is literally not my problem. I measured it like you said; if that straight-line length requires more actual cable than the ‘11-15m’ option I chose then that is your problem. Then the cable was mostly laid under chipped bark not fixed to the wall, and there was easy access throughout - so not sure what the ‘extra labour’ charge wasThe stupid thing is: if the £90 had just been included upfront it would’ve been lost in the eye-watering cost of the overall service. As it is, I genuinely feel like I’ve been had like a kipper.

20 months after charger fitted I noticed a hairline crack by the screw on the faceplate of my pulsar wallbox charger fitted by these guys. I contacted pulsar who advised me it's a fitting issue and advised me to contact the installer who offer a 3 year guarantee. Smart home charge said they would not cover it and said The damage could of been potentially occured from factors such as getting knocked from an outside factor"....Terrible service for something that's clearly caused by them. Especially when you consider the replacement part costs £20. I would avoid dealing with them."

Wallbox Pulsar Plus purchased and fitted through Smart Home Charge. From their informative videos, through buying, to it being fitted and applying for the OLEV grant, they could not have been more helpful.The whole process takes a few weeks though, partly due in my case to the unit being out of stock because of high demand. But I was kept informed throughout.Fitting was excellent, by a pleasant gentleman (Paul), who clearly took pride in his work.Overall, one of the best companies I have had dealings with in a long time.Do not hesitate to recommend them

I’m very pleased with my Ohme Home Charger installation. I needed a special solution with an online meter to split business/personal electricity charges for my company car. Smart Home Charge were able to provide the charger I wanted with the metering solution I needed.The whole process from start to finish was slick and efficient, from order placement, to OLEV grant application, to installation.The installation was completed in a few hours with minimal fuss, and the engineer left the area clean and tidy.I thoroughly recommend Smart Home Charge.

We just had our wall connector installed and we couldn’t be happier about the whole process! It took less than a week to have our charger installed and the engineer did an outstanding job (very neat) without giving him any instructions. Finally, the price was very competitive. I would recommend to anyone that would like a hassle free experience.

Our engineer was really friendly and helpful (Tyler who covers Berkshire). He completed a really neat install with virtually no ugly external wires and a very tidy look to the setup, we’re really happy. I did expect a call at some point to confirm everything but to be honest from ordering all the way up until install day the emails were helpful and provided all the info we needed. Smooth experience and our ohme box was fully installed about a week after ordering.

Our EV charge point was installed during covid-19 lockdown measures. So it was unusual circumstances but we were pleased with communication about the installation and also the install itself. The engineer communicated 1 week before the install and arrived as planned with all equipment required. All work was external to our property so it was possible to maintain a social distance from the engineer. It took a few hours and the engineer confirmed working order with us before he left.Only follow up required was set up of the App which was a little more tricky but SmartCharge were able to guide me

Smart Home Charge
The engineers were great, but everything else about Smart Home Charge's service was bad.Poor communication, appointments cancelled last minute, and took 4 attempts to get an engineer out for install (after a month of waiting). All could have been resolved if a good line of communication was open. Instead, responses were murky and directionless.Overall experience poor? Very bad. The subcontracted engineers were the only saving grace.
