Pets at Home Pontypridd

This pet shop has all the things you will need for your little buddy back at home, from toys to beds they have everything! I went with my mum and nephew and he lived looking at all of the fish! And we met a few pups as well.

I got to the shop there was 1 person asking to get a gold fish the girl that works there said how many fish do u have in ur tank she said 1 she said I can't sell u one u have 1 aready I could not beleave the fuss she had now it was my turn I said I need 4 s again she asked me same I said a few she said no to me I've got 2 fish tanks and a 18 foot pond I've looked after fish since I was a boy ..so the shop was down 2 sales then a guy asked for fish well u know what I'm going to say she said no to him I had to remove myself from ur shop she putt me in a hell of a mood I'm a 57 year old bloke not a child .when I was driving back I really felt like going back and asking for a manager.. How can u run a shop like this you must be loosing a lot of profits .for god sake it's a gold fish not a shark it needs looking at .Mr nutt

Went to this shop today to buy some more fish for my tank which has been going for years I just wanted some more fish in there. It’s a 80ltr tank with just 6 neons and one angel fish . When I was looking around most of their tanks had dead fish in and many poorly looking fish . I decided on getting two baby angel fish and asked for a staff member . She started asking loads of questions which I answered , then I suggested if she is that bothered about how am I going to look after them why so many dead fish in their tank and look after theirs first. She snapped at me and said their tanks are clean and there might be a couple of dead fish in there but they had other things to do. Where I was standing there was at least 6 dead ones right in front of me. And the rest in the other tanks. To me their live pets should come first. It’s not nice to see all these dead fish half eaten… then she said she is refusing to serve me and walked off so I asked for a manager and an explanation why is she refusing as I am only stating facts.. she carried on walking off. When he came I suggested him to have a word with the staff about how to treat customers but he was not interested and said “so what fish do you want then” I bought the ones I wanted , he totally ignored the fact how rude the girl was to me, he wasn’t overly polite either , and I had no apology from anyone , paid £89 as I was leaving and not even a thank you or a smile or anything. This store need serious training on client care and how to speak to customers. I will definitely won’t be returning in the future to this store.

Wonderful shop to pick up pet supplies, staff are very helpful and informative

First visit to this store today and will return. Staff very friendly and helpful. The young lady even helped me take an item to the car as I was unable to carry both items.

A caring for the welfare of animals store would not put flight animals ( rabbits / Guinea pigs in glass fronted viewing pens directly on the floor. Where I have seen toddlers banging the glass and dogs trying to get access. Where are the RSPCA when blatant abuse is plainly visible.

Great staff so very dedicated and helpful plenty of parking places and disable friendly there is a lift up to the vets plenty of room

Flat disabled entrance. 3 disabled bays for parking outside. Helpful staff. Clean crisp presentation of store.
