Really surprised at the quality of the food, I haven't been here for around 10 years but the improvement is fantastic.The pub is comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful.I messed up on the car park not validating my parking (the signs are quite low and in the dark they are not overly noticeable) and the manager was really helpful.The food though, absolutely delicious, I had the beef burnt end tacos, fries, coleslaw and mac & cheese. Friends had mixed grills and chick & mix, everyone was incredibly happy.

Took my daughter out for dinner on the 7th November. As I wasn’t familiar with the area thought a safe and trusted brand like Green King would be my best option. What do I get as a reward?….. a £100 parking fine. A warning from the staff to enter details or make a payment would have been nice…. Never again! Absolutely disgusted a brand like Green King would partner with parking bandits to fine unsuspecting customers!

We come to Grey Mare every Thursday to take part in Johnny's quz it's a really good atmosphere. The quiz master Johnny makes everyone feel welcome whether it's your first time joining or you're a regular player. All the staff are lovely and so friendly. If you want a good fun filled evening with lots of laughs Grey Mare on a Thursday is definitely for you.

Staff are amazing and the food is good.Unfortunately, other guests smoking cannabis in a room next to us over two days gave us no other alternative but to find accommodation somewhere else at short notice. However, staff very understand and issued a refund for our remaining days without any problems.

The Old Grey Mare is a green King pub opposite hull university. There is a good range of beers and lagers although sadly no cask on when I called in, that's the first for a green King pub, but Plenty of lillys ciders on offer. The food is the usual green King menu which I prefer to marstons pubs. It's a proper pub nice friendly staff, bar games darts and Pool. There's a free car park but be warned you must enter your registration number inside the pub or you will get a very hefty fine. All in all it's a nice pub.

Chips were under cooked peas were almost crunchy and the chicken tasted like it had been in the microwave, I appreciate two meals for £11.99 but it was shocking! And no grilled tomato as stated so overallVery disappointed.
