Walking Photography

I had a really great one to one day course with Richard. He was extremely patient answering my many questions with easy to understand explanations - so not only an amazing photographer but a great teacher too. Would love to do a travel photographt course if he runs one in the future.I would highly recommend this course

Having been on a couple of Rich's group events I booked a private lesson to concentrate on macro photography. He took care to establish both my aims for the day (bugs) and my current knowledge and experience and tailored the day accordingly. He is a very patient teacher and followed up the day with a PDF summarising the main points we covered. Heartily recommend, and am looking to re-book to cover another area.

I had a private 1 day lesson with Richard and found it really informative. Tailored specifically to me so I got the most from the day. I was keen to learn more about my camera especially the Manual mode which I was a bit wary of. I came away from my lesson feeling much more confident with my camera and have gone on to get some photos I am very pleased with. Richard teaches in a very relaxed and friendly way and no question is a stupid question.

I bought a photography lesson for my wife last Xmas as she was struggling to get to grips with a new bridge camera. She is a keen birdwatcher and so the chance to learn from an expert like Richard whilst at an RSPB reserve like Bempton was a great combo. Rich was really great at helping Laura better understand her camera and how to get better results especially when filming wildlife and doing landscapes. Many thanks Rich

An excellent course on Lightroom and Photoshop. Rich was extremely patient and helpful. I feel much more confident and hope to produce some decent edited images . I hope to book on one or more of the walking photo courses

Really recommend. Richard took our group on a stunning walk through flower meadows, stopping at certain areas for little tuition talks on best angles, suggested settings and light etc., as well as pointing out potential good shot that we perhaps hadn't noticed. Thoroughly enjoyed and ended up with some great images.

Rich was such a friendly and knowledgeable tutor! I booked a private lesson for myself and my mother - both total beginners - and he tailored the course perfectly. We were both delighted with what we learned. Communication from first enquiry to the day itself was brilliant. After the course, Rich sent a document with personlised advice and a summary of the day, including photos from our trip, which was a lovely touch and very helpful! Thanks for a great experience.

My friend and I had an afternoon with Rich as we both felt that despite having been photographers for many years, we were both self-taught and thought and were missing out on some important theory and practical advice, so off we went. I have to say that it was time well spent. Rich was an excellent tutor and structured the afternoon to meet our slightly different needs. We both learned 'new stuff' and during the last hour, we left the studio to venture to the local park to practice our new found techniques. On the walk Rich showed not only his knowledge of cameras and photography, but also of nature. Time flew by and we both agreed that a return trips to one, or more likely several, of Rich's other events are on the cards. Highly recommended.

Rich gave a very informative and interesting overview on Kingfishers and Owls prior to each walk offering plenty of top tips and advice.On both walks we headed out to the local area and as we headed around the walk Rich was always pointing out what to look for in search for of Kingfishers and Owls. Both walks resulted in sightings, Rich clearly knows his stuff and the areas to go to....Armed with his top tips and advice I have since headed out to my local area and spotted my first local Little Owl.... Thanks Rich for 2 great sessions... I highly recommend both of these walks.
