It’s generic burger food, obviously overpriced for what you get. But we go into these places knowing that. Service was amazing. They had ran out of ice cream (what!?) and my 2 year old nephew only really likes that as a dessert. I mentioned he also loves fruit and waitress offered to draw up a bowl of fruit and nephew loved this! And no extra charge! It’s the small things like this that make you go back to a big generic chain restaurant.

Another solo experience at Monterey Jacks. I have been to a few other sites but was in Glasgow Fort today and thought that a trip here was needed. I liked the open view kitchen and could see they were very busy with takeaway orders. I had the Yeehaa burger, the salsa very flavoursome, the salsa was nice and had a kick. Served by a new member of staff who was being shadowed by what looked to be the manager. She was very attentive and considering she was managing a number of tables in really earned her tip. Service was great. It’s good to see across the different venues I have been the service and food is consistently good.

What can you say about this place apart from outstanding food and hospitality. The food has always been excellent at this branch of Monterey Jacks and that’s the reason we prefer to visit. 10/10 as per usual.

We ordered 2 portions of loaded fries, Atomic fries, Notorious P.I.G. burger, chilli con carne topped nachos and an MJ's house beef burger. All was well made and delicious. One of our party wanted to order the MJ's house chicken burger but the chicken selection on the menu was not available. I had the chocolate milkshake which was nice and creamy, not to overpowering. Inside decor was nice and toilets clean. Staff friendly and we would return for a meal in the future.

First time here. Bad service straight off the bat, the waitress forgot about order on 2 reminders. Had burger, ribs and pizza. Burger came with finger prints in the bun with burned meat first time. And pizza is definitely frozen and microwaved, but even from the oven. Ribs are just ribs. Nothing special. Sides look sad.

So, we had a pretty disappointing experience here but the staff did try to make it right, at least.We came in on a Saturday night - we had a wait, as expected, and were told the kitchen needed time to catch up. In the meantime, a server was going round asking waiting people for drinks orders…except us.Got to our table, everything was fine, placed our order. My husband’s food arrives with our side. 5 minutes later, I’m still waiting. When we flag someone down (not our original server), they say there’s been an issue with the handheld PDAs playing up and they’ve put another burger through for me. We get 2 free drinks on the house for the inconvenience, which was fair enough.When my burger (The Mounty) arrives, it’s pretty decent. The maple syrup is a nice touch, although the fries aren’t amazing. My husband had the chicken and mac plate - the macaroni is bland, the chips are undercooked and chicken strips are delicious but are only small nuggets. The side of halloumi fries was nice.At the end, the server apologises forgetting to put my burger through (but I thought it was an issue with the handheld PDA?!) and gives us a 20% discount.Overall, the decor is pretty cool, the food is hit or miss and the service was average, but at least they recognised an issue and tried to put it right. Would I come back, or recommend it to someone else? No. Even without the mistakes, there are better places at the Fort to eat.Also, the blackboard artist has spelled the restaurant name wrongly on your wall…oops.

The absolute worst experience I have had in a restaurant in years.Firstly we were pushed to use the app instead of ordering, which is fair enough, but there was only one poster for the QR code which I was pointed to and so had to go and scan that before sitting down.We ordered and it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks which didn't come until after the starters and we asked about them. After we finished these, we waited around 40 minutes before having to ask about our mains. When asked we suddenly had them but the fries were completely cold as was most of our burgers. We settled for just asking for new fries, but honestly felt like we were annoying the staff even though we just wanted an enjoyable meal. When finished we never had any further interaction with the staff, even to come clear the table or make way for desserts, so just left.If you look at my history I only rate things 5 or normally say when something was good and, rarely complain, but the service in here was so terrible that I'm actively telling people to avoid it. I even tried contacting them through their website to ask about this, and now has been 4 weeks without a reply.Please do no waste your time on overpriced burgers and a terrible atmosphere where they just have TVs blaring music and extremely subpar service. Will never go to again.

Waited a while to be seated as I think we were the first customers of the day. Order our drinks, which when arrived, were relatively flat. Now onto the food. My wife ordered chicken strips with seasoned fries. Fries came very bland and chicken were extremely oiley. She couldn't finish it. My burger arrived without the dip and the fries were like warm at best. Considering we were the first customers, yous expect everything to be nice and fresh and warm. Sorry but we Would not recommend or return.

We came in , sat and left without ordering. Our family of 5 (adults) has been sited at the table of 4 and the chair for myself was taken from another table to add to our table. I was sitting on the way, there wouldn't be any space for my plate There was plenty of other space and bigger tables. The restaurant wasn't crowded and it was lovely and atmospheric but because of the offered seats we decided to leave and change the restaurant.It was our anniversary dinner and we could ask for a different table but one person who was working there was way too busy so we didn't want to make a hassle.
