Excellent little fitness shop. Went in to get some running shoes fitted as my previous ones were giving me issues, the advisor spent ages examining my posture and going through different pairs to see what would work. Really knew what he was doing and I left with the perfect pair.

My items were sent back to StartFitness from customs. I contacted StartFitness regarding refund and Jamie in customer care refused to refund the shipping cost even though the items never arrived at my address.I then asked to submit a complaint and instead received a long email from someone called Finn detailing VAT and customs regulations and why they weren't going to give me a full refund.To top it all off Finn wrote to me after his long paragraphs What does this mean for you?". Extremely poor customer service. Advice to avoid for other sports companies."

I've got my last 2 pairs of running trainers from here now. They all have so much knowledge and really know what they are talking about. The are also very reasonably priced even if you compare online it's hard to beat them! Safe to say I'll be back for more!

I took my teenage son for some running shoes and was amazed at the level.of customer service. The man who served us was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and courteous.Definitely 5 star service - well done.

Wide selection of running shoes and accessories for all ages and requirements. Friendly staff always happy to offer advice and plenty of discounts on offer. Conveniently located near Prince Bishops car park. Ten minutes walk from Durham station.

Brooks trail running trainers - needed good advice as I have severe pain in my achilles. Chap there really knew his stuff. Really helpful and recommended the perfect shoe for my style of wide feet. Also wedges to raise the heel and shorten the achilles. Cant wait to hit the trail. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent shop and shopkeepers. Had some issues with pain from running. Went in and spoke for 15 minutes with me about it and never tried to sell me more than exactly what I asked for.Couldn’t recommend more

This shop was highly recommended by a running friend and I can now highly recommend myself. What a delight to have someone who is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly to give excellent advice on the best shoes to suit your feet. I explained I had a hip replacement and was back running but my gait had changed. Several pairs of shoes of different brands and sizes were produced. Narrowed the selection down by trying on and jogging up and down the shop. I am now the owner of a pair of the comfiest running shoes I think I have ever had and the icing on the cake was that I could take them home, wear around the house or use on a treadmill and if not completely satisfied, you can take them back. Now you don't get service like that very often these days. I will definitely be visiting this shop again!!

Had a very small stock of hicking boots. Didnt have my size. Not much help either.

Bought a pair of Skechers yesterday, and they're so comfy. The service was professional and friendly. Thank you Start Fitness, market Place, Durham. Lovely experience.
