Booked this bar for my boyfriend's birthday having had positive experiences in the past...Unfortunately, this time the service was poor and the cocktails were not up to scratch.Waiting staff were nice enough but did not have sufficient knowledge of the drinks menu to adequately advise on choices. Considering some of the cocktails were priced at £18, we expected service standards to reflect this.We also felt rushed by waiting staff, having been prompted several times to order more drinks when our glasses were still half full. This was a shame as the lovely atmosphere of the venue was impacted.They did replace a cocktail (which was undrinkable due to an unlisted ingredient) but overall, the service and drinks did not reflect the £60 bill for 4 drinks.Unfortunately, I'd have to recommend you avoid!

We were nicely greeted at the door by the team (who even knew our name as we booked, a nice touch) who quickly seated us in the fabulous bar and took our order.We asked manager Matt about the fantastic King Louis Old Fashioned (see my pic) cocktail.Liam the bartender created this beauty, and was kind enough to talk us through his inspiration. Great vibe here, chilled tunes, even though its a Thursday it is busy with a friendly feel.Highly recommended for classy cocktails in a chilled and stylish space with fantastic decor. As with any place, its the team that make it. Everyone was on top form. Well done Madeleine Bar, will certainly come again.

Walked past and decided to go in and try their cocktail. Ordered an off the menu rum old fashioned. The bar man was experienced and drinks were nicely made. The service staff were also very attentive and regularly kept the water topped up for us.We sat at the bar, which was comfortable and it’s always nice to be able to see the mixologists at work. As an impromptu visit, it was a nice experience.

One of our favourite haunts in Birmingham City Centre. Excellent selection of wines and expertly curated spirits.The atmosphere is complimented by the attentive, smartly dressed staff and generally upmarket clientele.

Service was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Cocktails are good value and the surroundings and atmosphere make it feel very luxurious. A sanctuary from the Christmas market.

Delicious pastries, terrible sandwiches. Sandwiches were dry as a bone. Turkey in the sandwiches was sliced, packet turkey. Cheese sandwiches were Tesco’s quality. In fact that is a disservice to Tescos. Incredibly expensive. Only one waitress to serve a very large room of people - bless her, she did as best she could, being rushed off her feet. Service almost non existent unless you got up and asked for something. Lovely decor inside - nice Christmas feel. However I came home disappointed. Really not worth it at all.

Servers and staff were absolutley wonderful and attentive. Ordered two cocktails from the impressionist menu, over sweet and sickly - when paying more money for a cocktail you expect a real talent of balancing flavours - what we got was more of a syrup base. No alcohol could be tasted, they used a beautiful japanese whisky but it was barely noticeable. For the price of £38 for two cocktails I would have expected a little better.That being said - the staff greeted very well, were attentive and the surroundings were opulent. May try again - but possibly something more classic.

Fabulous surroundings...... Has become one of my favourite places to go, and can't wait to stay over in the Hotel.Quite expensive, but it goes with the omnibus of the place.
