Long Lane Library
I visited this lovely library a couple of days ago for the first time. The staff were most friendly and extremely helpful. I had only called in to do some printing so was only there for a short period but it was nice to see local residents being greeted by name and a couple of ladies enjoying a catch up over coffee. This is a great asset to the local community and is a traditional library: a haven of peace and tranquillity.

The Library in Long Lane is a little haven of calm, where you can browse the most beautiful wooden book shelves. Loose yourself in fiction, immerse yourself in facts, both from near and further afield, use the computer. The librarian this afternoon was exceptional. She helped a young boy, find a particular book, he could not remember author or title, he just had a vague idea. But by asking relevant questions, giving different ideas, she found the very book he was after.That boy looked amazed, leaving with a good story book. Amazing.

I found the staff extremely rude at this place. They were very unhelpful and spoke to me in an utterly disgraceful manner when I asked them to help me with the computer and printing systems.The council need to take a serious look at their staff in this library - I'm not sure drinking tea, sitting with your feet up on another chair, chatting unnecessarily amongst each other and not helping the public when needed is a good example of a library employee!?I would recommend you to stay away!

Visited the library today with my daughter and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. My daughter had a lovely time using the play facilities. She's already looking forward to her next visit.

Very rude reception staff. False advertising with opening times. Went in to print some important documents. Was told that the libraries close at 4:45pm. Directed me to alternative libraries miles away. Please see photos attached which state otherwise.

As a disabled person, these facilities are inaccessible. The ramp does not meet regulations, you can't reach the doorbell from seated, there is no handrail on the ramp, there is no flat entrance, the door isn't wide enough (due to it's foot), and even if you could get through you are in a dark area and cant reach the lights.

Lovely library, especially for kids. They love sitting there reading. There's activities for younger kids too. Great selection of books and very friendly staff.

Great library. Lovely garden at the rear to enjoy fresh air whilst reading. Staff always welcoming and you can reserve books online and pick up within days. Check out for events, coffee mornings and childrens crafts.
