Feel very lucky to have this wonderful establishment a short walk away. Great beers (6 taps on rotation and many, MANY cans/bottles) and lovely people, plus the venue is used for all kinds of awesome gigs, insightful talks and is available for events.A real local gem!

Friendly vibe, small selection of drinks but well chosen. They also run literary nights in conjunction with The Newham Bookshop. You can get free delivery pizza from Yard Pizza delivered and eat on site.Lovely on a late summer evening siting outside on the quiet street.

Revising this review because since then the bar owner has barred this guy and spoken to the other regulars about this bar priding itself on welcome and inclusivity. Will give the jam and the porter another try.Went for a musical jam night. Won't go back. My husband got asked 'doesnt your wife feel uncomfortable in a room full of white men?'. To which he answered, 'since she's British, not at all'. Bought a round and one person wanted a tea - bartender got really annoyed at the request - 'we haven't served hot drinks since 1986'. I felt this was unwarranted. The overall vibe felt unwelcoming to us. We'll spend our money and bring our goodwill somewhere else.

First time at the Wanstead Tap. Went for an 'Evening with Paul Talling' talking about 'Derelict London' , his books and guided walks. It was very entertaining and the bar had an excellent selection of beers. I'm going to look out for other events for sure. Excellent evening.
