Sexy Fish Manchester
Brilliant food but very expensive. Be prepared to spend a lot particularly if you’re drinking. The salt and pepper squid was seasoned to perfection, the wagyu and truffle gyozas and the black cod were exceptional. The service was impressive, however one thing is please can the staff not top the wine up after every sip.

Purely based on having drinks before going out. It’s a very pretty venue, and the drinks were great as well. Staff all look professional and I love their outfits. The food I saw looked amazing as well.

We absolutely loved our first time at Sexy Fish Manchester! From the amazing service when we arrived, through to the food and wine we had.Our waitress, Ella W., was so friendly and helpful- she made some wonderful recommendations (we loved all of it!) and you could tell she enjoyed making peoples evening special.Oh, and the lovely sommelier (whose name we didn’t catch) also really made the whole experience!Antonio also deserves a special shout out, as he brought a great energy to the evening. We will be back (but, it is pricey, so maybe next time for a special occasion)

Amazing night from the food, service, quality, and friendly staff who even on a Sunday night created a party atmosphere. The cocktails are pretty special with a varied menu, for the food we went for a few dishes rather than the tasting menus and didn’t get anything that we didn’t love.

Went for lunch yesterday for our anniversary. We went knowing food was going to be expensive and for the two of us the bill was £240. That included 5 cocktails, 6 dishes and a dessert. Every single dish was fantastic. The duck salad and pork skewers were my personal favourite. The employees were amazing. Manuel (hope I’ve remembered his name right) was absolutely lovely and every other member of staff was warm and welcoming!Beautiful venue, amazing food and perfect staff. Highly recommend for an occasion.

Well what can I say. We had such high expectations for this place and it did not live up to them. We came here for our 5th anniversary hoping to have a good time. When we arrived we were greeted by some lovely hosts who informed us our table wasn’t quite ready yet - no problem we headed to the bar.Cocktails ranged from £17-22 (eye watering if you consider the prices of some well established bars in the area - Sterling bar, speak in code, hawksmoor and Schofields) might I add all of those recommendations are a league above the soda water we were served at sexy fish. Cucumber and dill fizz - £19 it may as well be titled “overpriced sparkling water and dill sprig” because that’s all it was.We were then taken to our table, you’re automatically drawn to the decor something grabbing your eye everywhere you look however all that grabbed my eye was the view of the drab offices across from the restaurant - more could have been done to block out the view. As our experience got worse and worse everything then just looked tacky, the decor, the uniform and the CHEAP wooden chopsticks. You’re charging £15+ for almost every course and you can’t even provide god quality chopstick - it’s laughable. Our waiter came over and explained the menu to us - after we had eventually received the correct one that is. We were looking for wine recommendations as our cocktails were flat and tasteless so the Sommelier was sent over. I found him rude and abrupt - you should be making recommendations to us based on what taste and palette we like. This was not the case so we ended up picking on our own.Once we ordered we never saw our server again, we didn’t get a single check back on any course, we didn’t get our water topped up and we were sat with empty wine glasses most of the evening. Take a leaf out of Hawksmoor’s serving standards - or just go to hawksmoor for a more pleasurable evening where your waiter will be attentive and personable. You might be thinking why didn’t we say something? How could we when the next time we spoke to a server was when they came to clear the ribs that we hadn’t touched from our table. He wasn’t even our server for the night. He eventually asked what was wrong with them - the ribs tasted like smoke and that was it - they were extremely dry and definitely not worth the £25 they were charging. It’s hard to understand who is a manager through the god awful fish themed uniforms but we had mentioned about the poor service to a waiter who hadn’t touched our table once and not a single person came over to chat about our experience not even our original waiter who was still fussing over larger tables forgetting we existed. Not what you would expect when the average bill will probably be £150+ even for two.We asked for the bill as at this point we just wanted to leave, we then had to ask a server for the remainder of our wine to be poured as no one had bothered topping it up all night. We eventually got the bill, and the just as we were about to leave our original waiter appeared from nowhere with a “Happy anniversary sorbet” for us. Which was a lovely gesture and we were grateful for but it didn’t do much to change our opinion of the night.Overall I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It was awful, the service was none existent, every single course was BLAND, for the price you pay you can clearly see they put their time and effort into bigger tables that will have a bigger service charge on them. Both the tables at the side of us asked for the service charge to be removed. It speaks volumes.House of Fu in Manchester do a far better gyoza and salmon tartar than this place for HALF THE PRICE! Sterling bar and speak in code do amazing cocktails half the price of here. This is a genuine review and I wish I had read others before being sucked into the glorified aesthetics of this place as that’s all it’s good for…picturesDo better sexy fish! Anyone that reads this do some research there are far better unknown restaurants in Manchester that deserve your money more than this placeService

Everything we expected and more. Worth the hype it got on the media and some. Decor was fantastic, music, service, size of floor and ambiance on point for a Saturday lunchtime. We were most impressed by the menu knowledge from our host, Richard- gave it the edge for Manchester restaurants. They have invested in a good team. Sommelier in gold jacket was a great help and very funny to chat with later, his recommendation of white wine for our meal was superb. We will be back.
