Byways Breaks

My friend and I are walking from Lands End to John of Groats over several years! We used Byway Breaks to book our accommodation and luggage transfers for part of our walk in Shropshire.Carolyn was very efficient and flexible at arranging our special request. Everything went according to plan and we would highly recommend Byways Breaks if you are considering doing a walking holiday in that area.

A very enjoyable four day walking break on Offa’s Dyke. The accommodation was excellent with very nice rooms providing great breakfasts. The luggage transfers went very smoothly. Excellent organisation by Carolyn meant we had a wonderful 2 weeks walking the Offas Dyke path. I would recommend using Byways Breaks to anyone looking for a hassle free holiday.

Byways Breaks selected excellent overnight accomodation for our 6 night walk. We walked north along part of Offa's Dyke from Chepstow to Knighton and it was a joy to know that our luggage would be ready and waiting for us at the end of the day. The accommodation was always very close to or on the walk so there was no waiting around at each end of the day. Quality of the accomodation and the breakfasts were all excellent.Packed lunches were booked for us where possible and evening meals and the level of support meant that all we had to worry about were our aches and pains from walking in the outstanding scenery.I thoroughly recommend Byways Breaks. They went over and above to make sure we had a good walk. Outstanding!

Our 7 day trip, along the Offa's Dyke Path, went extremely well. The excellent weather didn't do any harm, either.All of the accommodations were up to standard and all meal prebookings successful.A well organised trip, at a reasonable cost. Recommended.

Carolyn at Byways Breaks helped me and my friends set up an inn to inn walking holiday on Offa's Dyke Trail. We canceled twice because of Covid before we finally completed the hike in May/June of 2022. The policies for cancelling and scheduling were very generous during the worst of the Covid pandemic. Carolyn and I were able to work out all the details through email. We stayed in a variety of accomodations and we enjoyed that variety. Carolyn set up the luggage transfers and taxi pick-ups along the trail. I would definitely use Byways Breaks again for planning a trip. Walking is a great way to see a country and meet the local people.

We just completed the Offa's Dyke Path and praise Byways for their great service and detailed communication. Route descriptions to accommodation, phone numbers for recommended restaurants, and town maps to the B&B's were appreciated. Not all companies include such info. Email communication was prompt. I used Byways to organise my solo walk on Offa's Dyke Path, arranging my accommodation and luggage transfers. Everything worked perfectly, communication was good, with good information too on dining options each evening / through the walking day. Recommend using Byways if you can't face organising it all yourself!

Carolyn organized our 2 week walk of the Northern and southern loops of the Shropshire way. We very much enjoyed our walk (such lovely scenery) and the arrangements made by Carolyn were very good and tailored to our specific requests. Thank you.
