The Paddle Shed

We took a double kayak out this morning and had a wonderful time exploring the coastline around the lovely Portmellon. We saw porpoises, dolphins & found some secret hidden beaches to land on. An awesome way to spend a few hours. Great service - the owner Chrys was able to give us guidance on where to go based on the conditions, she is clearly clued up on sea conditions which made us feel very safe! We went on a quieter morning so plenty of kayaks and SUPs available. Thank you Chrys!!!!

Excellent little kayak and SUP hire. Very safety first as the owner took the time to fit us properly for bouyancy aids. Had a lovely hour paddling in the cove and saw two different kinds of jelly fish! I can't think of a much better way to spend a tenner!

Had a wonderful morning on the water after renting a double Kayak and SUP. Hostess was lovely and very helpful, even helped get us a few action shots for posting, would recommend.

Really great service from a cute little shed in the car park just near the pub in Portmellon harbour. Good value board hire, life jackets and wet suits also available. Handy parking, lovely bay to explore, range of paddle boards to suit all sizes and abilities.

Took a group of teenagers and they had a fantastic time. Proprietor was charming and chatted with us whilst the teens were out, recommending beautiful locations to visit. Really good value. Thoroughly recommend.

Very disappointed. The Woman didn't make timings clear and then out of spite wouldn't give us a paddle-board when there were clearly paddle boards free. She wouldn't even listen to us when we had travelled 45 minutes to get there. Horrible service and very rude lady. I'd definitely recommend looking somewhere else if you want a guaranteed paddle-board!

Nestled behind the best coffee hut in the area is this gem. the coast is a gift needing to be explored, and the local knowledge the owner has is invaluable; She is warm, witty and welcoming to all you throw at her.It's the best way to spend a day, access to tiny cut off beaches, shallows full of sea life and a stunning coast line you just don't appreciate from the rocks. take a snorkle (or ask to hire one) and packed lunch - they provide dry bags, wet suits and damp bums

Exactly what we wanted. Located right on the beach with a car park right outside and others nearby in the town if that one is full. The price for the kayak was good, they were willing to look after our bags/phones/keys etc. that we didn't want to take with us. Paddles and buoyancy aids provided. Waterproof phone holder available for £10 deposit that you get back after, this was very good because we were able to get some lovely photos on the way. We went east up the coast and stopped off to explore a secluded stoney beach and a cave in the side of a cliff. Very nice views and experience.

We (4 adults and 1 teen) hired sea kayaks for three hours and kayaked round the headland, spotting a seal and hundreds of jellyfish! The sea was calm and the views back to land were stunning. Port Mellon is a beautiful, quiet bay and ideal for a peaceful and relaxing outing. The owner was very helpful and gave us a good safety briefing. The wind got up as we returned to Port Mellon and I was impressed to see the owner advise her next booking (a family with young-ish children) that the wind direction and speed meant conditions were not favourable for young children. She offered them body boards instead and rebooked them for the following day. Safety is really important to me and I'm giving her 5 stars for that reason. A fab day out thank you.
