I'm disabled so things can be difficult at times going shopping however the staff here have continually been helpful if needed and nothing has ever been to much trouble for them. It's refreshing to experience. Well done and thanks 11 out of 10 !!

Good selection, well stocked. Doesn't have furniture like the larger stores.Best to go evenings as it's quiet and no queues.

I find that in the Platt Bridge store that the service is either wonderful or awful. They are constantly changing the place of produce, causing a disabled person like me to walk longer on crutches with a broken back a lot of pain; trying to find what I'm looking for. Often the product/s has/have been moved. They also don't always sustain the products I like to buy, so I miss out and so do they - on revenue! I'was told by a member of staff, 'We just put out on the shelves, what Head Office send us'. It feels like, 'Don't blame me, I just work here'. Not a good response at all. Very frustrating! I often walk in and have to ask for help rather than being offered it. In Iceland, next door, a lovely lady saw me walk in, said hello, introduced herself, grabbed a basket and said, 'Let me help'. She then went round the store to help me shop, then opened a till, just for me. When I mentioned this once to two ladies in Home Bargins, one told me, 'Some of us are scared to talk to disabled people in case they think we're patronising them'. Really? That's the difference between star quality Customer Care and well below average; get them in, get them out style, as is the often adopted style by Home Bargins. Pity, because I like shopping there, I like some of the products. It's close to my home, handy and usually cheaper than say, Boots or Superdrug. As a former HR Manager in Hospitality, with 24 years experience, I suggest a team training course in product knowledge and most definitely, one in Customer Care. Some of the staff, individually are better at it than others, which shows they don't all sing from the same hymn sheet. This makes me question the quality of your staff training; Improvements in that area are needed. I'd be more than happy to do a presentation on Customer relations, as that was my key field, along with Employment Law and Health & Safety. Hope this helps in a constructive way.

Staff have got a bad attitude. Went in Tuesday night and one was. Not drunk but on his way. Don't use this shop.

Great place to shop, has all the things you need and generally cheaper than a supermarket. Shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, chocolate and snacks are some of the regular things to get from here. Doesn't stop there though, there's a huge array of items to buy. From toys to dog food they pretty much supply everything you need. The staff will always help out and seem to know where absolutely everything is which is handy if you're in a rush.

If you want cheap groceries or toys then go here.Be prepared to pay for the reduced prices with having to wait for checkout staff having a chat with one another before serving you or joining a queue of 10 people when Doris, Mavis, Trisha and Brenda are re-stocking one aisle (whilst gossiping amongst themselves).Small price to pay for the cheap prices though.
