Highcliffe Castle

Visited whilst holidaying with family. Took about 90mins to look around and have a stop at the cafe for a drink. Shame the building has suffered a fire in its history as it would have been more interesting to see its original features. Did the short walk down to the beach before leaving. Car park is small so recommend getting there early.

If in Highcliffe, definitely worth a visit. Lovely grounds down to the sea. There is a mobile cafe there at present. Main cafe building is closed currently. Service is somewhat slow, so be patient. Also parking can be a problem if very busy, so go early if you can, especially during weekends.

What can I say about this place! Amazing history and helpful staff. As a wedding photographer I see things slightly differently, I love the light in the ceremony room, the option of going to the sea is a perfect escape for portraits and if you're lucky enough to get e sunset the castle catches the colours perfectly. A truly magical fairytale wedding venue.

Beautiful historic landmark overlooking the isle of Wight. It's a shame the cafe is closed although there is a food truck station there serving hot beverage. The pathway is not maintain as it get bog down on wet day. Still grandeur stop over in beautiful day for a long walk to Highcliffe

Wonderful exterior and beautiful grounds along the seafront. Unfortunately, there is not much left of the interior due to a couple of fires in the sixties. They do really cater well for kids, plenty of activities, dress up, and trails. Lovely gift shop and helpful staff. There is a car park for a small charge. Historic house members can enter free, no booking required.

Lovely old building to explore. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. It was once the home of shopkeeper Harry Selfridge (Selfridge's)and his wife Rose who are both buried in a nearby church.

Castle No, but it's worth a visit. Yes, definitely do the hidden tour if possible. It's so interesting tragic that the owners, past it down! Lost lost it, a few times, Mr Selfridge wanted to buy it ! Then it burnt down x2 !!! Go visit the gardens are fabulous the beach lovely only down side is the parking charge !!!

I highly recommend visiting this castle, it's really beautiful. Visiting time is about 1 hour 30 minutes if you want to see and read everything carefully, if something is not described and you are interested in more information, very nice ladies work there who are very happy to provide you with information. after sightseeing, you can have a very nice time going down to the beach, which is very long and very nice

This will always be close to my heart. Highcliffe castle is outstanding and where I married my wife in 2018. The whole package from the day we booked till 2 days after the wedding the service was like no other we ve ever experienced. And the setting couldn't be more perfect. SUN SHINING down on us and our guests all day with amazing views and after the ceremony a short 2 minute walk down some steps and your on the sandy beaches it really couldn't be set out any better for wedding photos afterwards. From the Planner s, the catering services we were introduced to were amazing the marque company for the extra decor in the reception room with led dance floor amazing and the DJ again introduced to us by the castle team was a massive 15/10 rating from me and did exactly what we wanted catering for our old school dance music being a must and did it perfectly. 5 years on still married and would do it again at the castle to renew vowels in 5 years time without a question in my mind.HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIGHCLIFF CASTLE FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY AND NIGHT YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH ANYTHING PROVIDED BY THE TEAM FOR YOUR SPECIAL DAY.....
