I had the most scrumptious dinner at the Country Kitchen Cafe! My mother and I, who are both Americans, went to Cumbria in the UK to visit my sister, who is also an American but lives there now. She and her British husband took us to the Country Kitchen in Dalston, where we had the most divine chicken, roast potatoes, veggies, my very first Yorkshire pudding, and lovely scones with clotted cream and jam. I will never be able to eat an American scone again. Joyce's daughter, Wendy, served us. She did an amazing job! Everything is prepared and cooked right there. She was incredibly accommodating when it came to individual preferences and dietary needs. It was utterly delightful and I hope to come back some day and visit again!

Stopped here for a quick coffee and bite to eat.Very nice sitting in the garden while the sun was out.Service excellent.Reasonable price.Will call again.

Lovely little cafe. Small and cozy.Parking available outside.On entering you recieve a warm welcome. Great selection of foods available at reasonable prices.We had the full breakfast for £7.50.Wow, what a plate full and as a bonus it includes a hot beverage and toast.Lovely atmosphere as everyone involved in any conversations when spoken to.BIG BONUS..... it's dog friendlyDefinitely worth a visit ☺️☺️

It was a pleasant and cosy place for light food, brunch and lunches. It is also dog friendly with indoor and outdoor sitting at the rear. The garden had beautiful flowers and created a calm environment.Food was good with plenty of options.Inside got a little too warm at one point, eventually they opened the door. It did get busy at peak lunch hour.Location is great, right on the main street in Dalston.

Absolutely lovely friendly welcoming atmosphere, locals very chatty too. By far the best breakfast I've had a while, nice selection of homemade cakes on offer too. Excellence value for money. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back when in the Lakes again.

We stop here for post ride refreshments almost every week. Hot rolls are well filled and really nice. Lovely quiet courtyard at the back. Definitely recommend.
