This shop used to be in Walsall. Don't miss it! Lots of patterns, wools, embroidery stuff and kits, etc super helpful lady.

This was the first time I had visited. It was OK. I love to go into this sort of shop and get loads of expert advice in a really friendly manner. As I said. It was ok . I was told the incorrect price and didn't find staff particularly helpful or friendly. Hmmmmm.

Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A wide selection of items for those just starting, or seasoned professional knitters, seamstress or crochet enthusiasts. Reasonable prices too...

RUDE!! ...you feel that you are being judged as soon as you step in the shop. Not helpful at all and i will never be returning there. I understand it is a small shop and i had a pram but what did they expect me to do...leave my baby outside?!? Disrespectful staff.I advise all to shop at HOLE IN THE WALL if they can, so much nicer and the staff will help and accomodate you above and beyond.

Very unpleasant women in the shop. Ordered me to remove plastic gloves I was wearing to protect myself and my elderly father from Covid. They said gloves are spreading disease. This is ridiculous, they were new and clean and I was willing to use their hand sanitiser on the gloves. I had a mask on the one woman didn't and was lecturing me on safety. I call that hypocrisy. If gloves are used for multiple trips they could spread the virus. Have they never seen nurses use gloves? Covid is not an excuse to be so rude to customers.

Rude and unfriendly! I agree with the lady who says she feels judged when entering ! I believe the lady who has served me the last twice is not the owner ( the lady who has always run it ) I have to say I walked out in Saturday after the way this lady spoke to me when I was just looking at some ribbon . I used to shop a lot there as I do a lot of sewing , and wouldn’t go back after her rude service previously . This time as I was desperate I went back and again found her extremely rude ! Desperate or not , I will not return again !! Not good customer service at all !

Appalling customer service and a very rude woman who either owns or just works there. I went it to look for a blazer button. As I went in I heard 2 customers complaining about the woman being rude but I did the know what had happened. I was looking at buttons and had to call through the door at the rear of the shop I was standing next to to ask my daughter about the button size. She had waited outside as we had a few large bags and our of courtesy to others she waited outside. As I was talking through the door (and I don't mean across the shop, I was actually holding the door) the woman stomped across the shop, and slammed the door shut while I was holding it and talking! I was absolutely disgusted to say the least. It was a bit wet outside but not cold or windy which still wouldn't excuse that level of behaviour. Walsall college encourages student of fashion to go to that store. I suggest they change that policy and others don't give her any money until she learns to behave like an adult and someone working in the customer service industry. Avoid unless you particularly like rude people and bad service.

I have read the latest review of Helens Haberdashery and have to say I'm very surprised as my experience is far different. The staff are very helpful and pleasant, they have great knowledge and experience of sewing, knitting, crocheting and cross stitch. It is a shame this lady has experienced a poor service but honestly this is most unusual and please don't be put off by this negative review.
