The lifeboat station in the picture doesn't exist anymore. Wells has a brand new, state of the art Lifeboat station to house it's brand new Shannon class lifeboat...RNLB Duke of Edinburgh.

Went to visit to see our father's names on the Duke of Edinburgh. Staff incredibly helpful. Disappointed that we could not a actually see the names on the boat but there is a replica of the numbers outside so that you can see the names.

Visited today as have a family member named on the boat. A big thank you to the staff at the station for helping us find his name on the lifeboat and for looking after the dog while we went to find it. A great lifeboat station to visit and a good shop on the side of the station. Thank you for your help today.

RNLI Wells Lifeboat Station
Very good well worth visiting. The new Shannon Class boat inscribed with our son's name is a thing of beauty, a truly outstanding piece of boat building and the tractor borne trailer is a magnificent piece of engineering . The new station is marvellous and a world away from the previous station which we visited some years ago for a memorial service.

Came to the beach but stumbled across the naming ceremony for the new lifeboat.Although the visitors centre and gift shop were closed for this historic event I would definitely come back and revisit.
