Brilliant venue for a game of pool, darts or snooker... Well maintained tables and grub is good quality. Great session for a group of 5/6 folk. Prices great too in comparison to other venues

Club is always vibrant and busy with a great cue sports atmosphere. Wonderful tables to play on and all the staff are attentive, friendly and sociable.

Spent a scintillating Saturday there for the Scottish Masters Event yesterday (Nov 25th 2023), where I discovered the power of Rasson tables over us mere mortals that try to play the game of 9 ball pool. These tables are amazing to play on: fast, sliding, 4 inch pockets, brutal side pockets. They really examine every part of your game...and mine was found wanting.Hello everyone. My name is Tony Cureton, (Tony Roberts is an cold stage name from my entertainment days) and I like to review some of the places I've been to. This weekend, the place is McGoldrick's pool and Sports Club in Rutherglen, near Glasgow. I believe it belongs to Jayson Shaw's sister. The town itself doesn't appear to be anything special, although there was a live band in the street for the Christmas market. The pool hall was quite different to the many others I've frequented.I'll start from the outside, and work my way in...First off, the there's a direct entrance into the club from the Rutherglen Exchange Car Park, which you access from Greenhill Road. It is wheelchair accessible and there are a couple of disabled parking spaces in the car park. Car parking spaces are quite tight, but if you all park nearside to nearside, it'll make your life a lot easier getting into your vehicle. There is also an entrance downstairs next to the Co-op. This has two fights of stairs. I hate stairs. Both entrances are controlled via push button intercoms. Did I mention how much I hate stairs? There are local shops for food, however there's also a really decent menu to be had in the venue. Although I didn't eat there, I believe the food to be pretty nice (considering the comments I heard and the smells I smelled). Yes, it's chips with everything pretty much. The staff are mainly girls, and they are a complete delight - really polite, welcoming smile, informative and really a complete credit to the place.Inside the rest of the venue, you have choices of 6 American pool tables (Rasson), a number of English pool tables (sorry, didn't count them), a couple of snooker tables or the card tables.Two of the American tables can be streamed and there is a separate booth for the commentators, set away from the playing area plus another video control area next to the tables. The whole place smells professional.Those Rasson tables have apparently just been re-clothed and shimmed to have 4 pockets. Basically Matchroom standard. Those pockets are the only thing that's tight about the tables. There is plenty of room around them without being wedged up against the next one

Went here today with my hubby and sons. Can't fault the place. Immaculate, well run and the food and drink prices are very reasonable and tasty.

Good place for some pool, snooker or darts or watching the horse racing on the massive TV. Or just for some lunch
