Victoria Road Launderette

My washing machine broke down and I ended up with about five lots of washing littering the bedroom. One trip to this launderette with help from the lovely lady and it was done in just over an hour.Now wondering why I do four lots of washing a week, clothes all over the house. Trying to dry in winter when this is so convenient. I'm not even sure it's much more expensive.Thank you for your help to the lady that runs it.

First visit so didn't know what to do.Lovely lady showed us, very easy.Managed to wash our king size mattress cover which would not fit in our washing machine as it was so thick. I discovered it had a zip all round, took it off then found out I couldn't wash it.Thank goodness we have a launderette nearby.

I would give this place zero stars if I could and (not that they'll care) but will NEVER go back there again. If you advertise your business as being Open" it's implicit that somebody will be there running it when customers arrive. Well

I've had a soft spot for launderettes since we - as kids - got conned into carting the washing, on foot, to the local launderette because a) it had a colour TV b) we timed visits to coincide with The Muppets on telly and c) it had a hot chocolate machine! That was decades ago...Today, the launderette, a different one admittedly, comes to me - in the form of Carolyn of Victoria Road Launderette. I first met her at the start of the pandemic, a learning curve for us all. Our portable" twin tub (heavy time consuming work) had packed up. I didn't mourn its passing. We couldn't install a proper washing machine because regulations have changed - as indeed they have for our old trusted gas cooker - so it would necessitate an entire makeover of the kitchen. Too much for a woman in her late 80s to bear. And I couldn't drive because in August 2020 I'd broken my foot. And I'm now a full time carer to an elderly and very frail mum

Machines don’t even run the laundry powder you put in, they are super dirty too! Charging £4 a wash, atleast clean ya machine you grubs

Very clean place and a lovely lady on duty

This is a life saver, especially during the winter when it's hard to dry stuff. My throws, bedding and towels are all looked after. I had 90x90 curtains washed and dried here and they didn't need ironing, excellent service.
